Battery charging issue

Has anyone ever had an issue with the battery not charging?

It has happened to me a few times now, where I plug in the battery to charge and the charger indicator light just keeps flashing green to signify 'Standby' mode.

Previously I have tried the following fixes
cleaned the contacts with Isopropyl alcohol,
unplugging and reconnecting,
trying a different power outlet in the house,
Checking all the plugs on the leads are secured.

Usually it has fired up again after performing one or more of those, however I've just tried to charge it up after riding home from work and it just won't work.

Could the charger be defective?

Bike is a 2015 Evo 29er

I had the same with my 36v Neo Cross charger. I swapped the mains power lead with another (laptop I think) and that cured it. Don't ask me why! I think there might have been a very poor 240v (UK) connection

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried a different cable from the wall to the charger and still no joy. I think the electronics in the charger must be knackered. I'll take it into the bike shop today.

Turns out it was the battery that was at fault. Luckily it's still under warranty.
That's now the second battery failure I've had and along with all the other issues I've had with the bike in the 20 months I've owned it, I don't really have much confidence in BH Ebikes.
The bike is great when it's working but at the back of my mind I'm always thinking... What is going to fail next and will it be today.

I'm having the same problem. It worked fine on my last ride now it won't charge on the bike or when I take out the battery. The light on the transformer just stays green. It's only been its 10th charge I'd say. The battery was lasting perfectly. First problem but its a big one!

I would just take the battery and charger to the retailer you purchased the bike from, if there are any problems it should all be covered under warranty.
I ended up swapping my Evo29er in the end and am now the proud owner of a Merida espresso 600eq, which has the shimano steps mid drive system. The bike geometry is more compact so is better suited to commuting (which is about 90% of my bike use), the ride feels very similar to the Evo but with a little less guts. The motor seems much noisier, though I may just be more aware of it due the the motor's location on the bike. Best of all, I'm now 400km in and thankfully have had no issues.
