What are the benefits of having it?
I've only experienced chain skip but nothing on chain dropped from chain ring. It is cool not practical for my frame that means I have to drill holes and put inserts to fasten that thing on the frame.
My bike is fine without

The only time I've ever dropped my chain was when I would jump a road curb, dead on perpindicular, and get my timing wrong, resuting in a very hard bounce in my rear suspension.
