Hi all,

I am new to this forum and new to E bikes.

I have just built a trek Marlin using a bafang 750w kit with a Sw102 display.

Am i right in saying this display is bluetooth ?

When powered up i can find it on bluetooth but i get a message saying i need an app to connect.

Any ideas what app i need to use the bluetooth function if possible ?

Thanks

Thanks for that, sadly it didn't work as it didn't seam to open fully , I also tried the + app.

This is what screen I got when opened

I thought the bafang kits and this display had been out for a while now.
They have been but the Bluetooth feature never caught on and has been a terd from day one.
There's a rider on here who has the latest model of their top of the line mid drive/display and he's never been able to make any use of it. So I'd forget about it working with a BBS* add on kit model for now.

Would I be right to say that to be able to do Bluetooth programming then I would need eggriders sw102 display ?

That's one way... Yes. But personally I hate the tiny buttons and display on the eggrider. Plus sometimes it can be buggy. But honestly I haven't touched mine in years.
I find the SPEEED App and a cable easier though perhaps a bit more cumbersome to repeatedly set up. I purchased a display cable "Y" so I can connect the program cable without the need to unplug my display.
Just confirm your setup is using the UART communication protocol, not CANbus.
Round display cable not pentagon shaped.

Likewise the display is a bit small and fiddly but I do like it’s size as I’ve managed to tuck in a gap on shimano m7100 slx brake lever which gives it quite clean look on the handle bars.the bafang sw102 display does seam a bit useless with its Bluetooth.

That’s good I’m on the right track , I have ordered a programming cable and have the speeed app ready.

My plug is the round green one.

I prefer a giant mid mount display with separate buttons easily manipulated blindly mounted near the grip... But hey, there is no wrong when it comes to personal preference.

Just make sure you have a USB to what ever port you have on your phone adapter as well to work with the programing cable. Typically type C these days.

I sort of like larger screens but then I also like the smaller screen being tucked out of the way.

I’m going to use Samsung tablet with speeed and I have same connector to turn type C into USB

Never programmed an e bike before. Currently it feels full on with poor low speed control in even mode 1 which makes riding through towns tricky as the bike wants to just go the moment you do a slight pedal turn.

I'm using something similar to this... Much more refined.

Thanks for that which will be very helpful, it will be over Christmas break that I will play with programming it so I can go for quick rides in-between setting changes.

Thanks for your response to my post which is very appreciated 👍
