The university where I work has a bike shop that is run by students. It is partially funded by a student activity fee, and also by the services it provides.
Today I arrived at work, fine and dandy, and part way through the day discovered that my rear tire was completely flat. I took it to the bike shop. They gave me two options 1) to fix it myself with their tools and supplies and with them available to lend a hand or 2) they would fix it and charge me. I had a full day of meetings, so I went with option (2). They charged me $7.00 for the tube. $5.50 for labor and $10.00 because it was an ebike.
I asked if I could come back some time and just practice flat changing even when I didn't have a flat. "Sure, and we also have free classes."
Amazing!
