Aventon front forks

I am new to e-bikes, We are looking at aventon 500's has anyone put a front shock on a 500? Did it mess with the geometry or handing? What schock did you use? Thanks exsurfer

I guess you are asking about a suspension fork? Don't waste your money on a spring fork. They are just barely better than a rigid. Look for a short travel air suspension fork.

If you’re going to add a front suspension to the 500, then spend $200. more and get the Level. It not only has the front suspension, but front and rear fenders, a heavy duty rear rack and a bigger battery and much better tires. It’s battery is built into the down tube and it’s a better looking bike. Well worth the money on a very nice bike, though it is a bit heavier. I wish the Level was available when I purchased my 500. I honestly don’t know much about front suspensions, but like rich c says, an air suspension shock is better than a spring shock. You have to question yourself about the type of riding you’ll be doing. If not riding on rough terrain, then perhaps the standard spring shock on the Level would be fine. The best way to find out would be to find a retailer and take it for a test ride on the type of surface you expect to ride. BTW, like Court says, there is no such thing as a perfect bike. I’m in my second year, 1500 miles with only one flat tire and find the Aventon to rival many e-bikes costing much more money. One other issue was that the odometer reset to 00000 miles at around 1300 miles, but everything else works fine. This is an issue that others have also experienced. Unfortunately after 1 year it is out of warranty, but not a biggie. Good luck and ride safe.
