Aventon Aventure Size

I'm 5'6 and looking at getting the Aventure. Going by their sizing guide, I should be getting their Small or Small/Medium Step-Through since they go from 5'1 to 5'7.

Would the M or M/L work? It says from 5'7. Anyone go an inch or two above their guidelines and is fine with the bike?

The dealer near me says there might be a M/L Step through coming in a few weeks.

Looking at the website, it looks like the ST frames are exactly the same, the only difference being the saddle min/max heights. The regular frames have a bit more variance in the stand over heights, but the main differences are again the saddle heights.

The benefit of getting the S/M or M is that if you wanted to add a suspension seat post, or use a saddle bag, you'd have leg reach and space under the seat to do these things. If you ordered the M/L, you'd likely have the seat closer to the minimum height, with less reach/room beneath for extras.

For what it's worth, I'm 5'1" with a short inseam and I rode a Medium Pace ST at the lowest seat height last week, which was rated for 5'8"+, so the height recommendations aren't gospel. The best way to know for sure is to test ride. Since you're kind of at the high end of the S range, it might be that the S or S/M are too small for you.

Yea most of the measurements are the same. I wonder if it's just a matter of changing the seat post to adjust the min/max saddle height so getting either would work.

I'm 6'0 and got the large frame Aventure and am riding it with the seat tube barely raised above minimum. Thinking that maybe a medium would have worked out just fine - if your height is anywhere near the min/max numbers they list think about a test ride before you decide.

I am 5’5” and got the small and it fits nicely. I have the seat raised some but there is still plenty of post to raise it more. I am happy with the small.

The small/medium seat post is an odd 30.4mm no one makes a 30.4mm seat post. Can't figure why Aventon chose that tube size for the small/medium seat post. The Med/Large uses a 31.6mm.
