Avatar follow,ignore

If I click on a persons avatar and sellect ignore,does that mean I won't see thier posts when I'm logged in?

In general yes. Their old posts won't show. If they enter a new post, you will see that they made an entry in the thread, but not what was typed. It will be replaced by a message saying you have ignored them.

I suggest everyone take the opportunity to test the ignore function by ignoring the obvious bots and their spam posts.

If I can ask a dumb question,
How do you tell a Bot and their spam posts?
I am not sure what a Bot is etc, and know nothing about this plastic box........

If you're a new user responding to a 6 1/2 year old thread that only has 2 responses, you're probably a bot.

If your post in said thread has little or nothing to do with the subject of the thread(other than you pull a phrase out of the original post and semi randomly use it in your post) and suggests a product or service and contains a link to an external website, it's a spam post.

That's what the "Report" button is for, so hopefully the moderators will delete the post and ban the bot.
