Alternative to the Deckpad for the Radwagon?

Hey, I just ordered a Radwagon, and they're out of the deckpad! Also, I've always been leery of the lack of a backrest for my five year old--we go on 30 minutes rides and that's a long time for a kiddo to sit unsupported.

Has anyone tried a different kind of seat for a five year (nearly 50 pound) child? Any suggestions or ideas?
