Air travel with ME1

Does anyone have experience flying with the ME1? Just purchased a travel bag & now realize the bike will probably need be divided between 2 separate bags to meet weight limits

You also need to figure out the battery since a 418wh battery is too large to fly with.

there's this, but would it work with the Shimano e-tube system on the ME1? worst comes to worst, I could always ground ship the battery separately

I would always send the battery(ies) ground, properly labeled. Otherwise, you are asking for trouble.

The weight policy is going to depend on the airline you use and what your status with the airline is. But you shouldn't need to put it in a second box, just pay an overweight fee. Usually for over 50lbs, but that weight limit could be 70lbs if you have elite status with the airline.
