Hello, I am a new member, so I assume that I am required to buy donuts for everyone in the morning. During my three months of research, I was quite surprised that there were so many companies and brands offering e-bikes. E-bikes within my price range of under $2,000, yet still had good components, meant that I would likely purchase bikes without riding it first. Because I needed one bike for tall riders and one bike for my 4'10" wife also meant that I would likely need to by two different bikes. There seem to be a lot of good bikes on the market, but the three criteria that I wanted brought down the number of options I had. After determining the power of the motor and the battery size I wanted, there were two more criteria that might get overlooked by some.
Two other criteria that are important
1. Customer service in case there were any problems. Before purchasing a bike, I sent questions to the ebike company. How they replied was a good indicator of the customer service I could expect.
2. Bike weight and seat height. If you are purchasing a bike for someone over 6'3" or under 5'0", be very careful when looking at the seat height. Some companies measure seat height from the bottom pedal, while others from the ground. For short riders, height from the ground is more important in my opinion.
My two bikes arrived last week and I will offer my input after I use them more.
Regards,
Steve
