Just read this article re an enhanced lithium battery tech;

The porous mostly-silicon films can hold more lithium ions and move them around super-fast. And they're cheap

The main claim to fame is rapid charge times, but the 30% increase in energy density to me is equally interesting.

Nearly every developer is over optimistic, but they're projecting 'standard cells' by the 2024-2025 EV model year. Just in time to upgrade my ebike battery!

Read basically the same story on New Atlas along with a couple other promising developments as far as weight, charge time,
& greatly improved capacity. My fear is big oil will buy the patents to kill the advances or find a way to grossly over charge
for them.
