700 series regen

One feature that if confirmed that Ride1Up should really call out as a feature is that I've had my bike about a year now and I notice that in going down hills, the battery seems to recharge if not peddling. But when I look for anything official on that, I don't see anything listed. That saved me here on a long ride in the Boulder area where I don't think I would have it home without that feature.

Does anyone else's bike do this? I don't know if this is just specific on the 700 series or on all. I also have a Lextric XP and it does not regen but it has the same rear motor setup so I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with that.

I suspect you are just seeing a rebound in the battery and when you start pedaling again, it will quickly return to where it was before coming down the hill. It's called voltage sag when it happens. Besides, it's impossible to have regen on a geared hub motor.

No regeneration in Ride1Up bikes. You're experiencing 'voltage bounceback'. Display battery level show instaneous voltage readings under current load. When your battery isn't under load like riding down a hill, the voltage level will bounceback, showing higher battery level. Lithium Ion battery characteristics.
