My current bike looks much like my first . I have ridden British motorcycles most of my adult life , so my bikes have some of the imagery of a motorcycle . And are used pretty much like a smaller version . I am not a speed freak , but I like to ride in the same lanes as the cars . So I want to not be an obstacle in they're way . I want to be able to accelerate up to speed with traffic . I have mounted turn signals and a brake lite , which are twelve volt aftermarket motorcycle units. I think that all vehicles sharing the road should have them . Even pedal operated bikes . I have a 48 volt hub motor by Voila , that has been in three different frames . The current frame is a Ruffian , with nice fat replaceable dropouts . I have the large disc , and cable operated hydraulic calipers by TRP . I have the Hayes shorty levers modified with a switch for brake lights . The battery is a Calibike 52 volt unit mounted on the water bottle mounts , which leaves the battery with some side to side instability . I added some stability with a U-bolt on the top frame rail . Crude but effective . The current controller is a 48 volt 35 amp 1500 watt unit that I am replacing with a 48 - 72 volt 45 amp 2000 watt unit both from Voila .I know it is low end , but it is what I can afford , and it gets me from point a to point b , and I have fun getting there . The forks are from Maverick , which is out of business now . That is pretty much it.
