A possible way....?

I have been thinking about adding these to the bikes,
so I can reduce the glove bulkiness ( US Military Lobster Claw types),
the average weather temps are into the low teens to 40* during the day times,
but with cold North winds normally.

I have a set of these on my ATV for winter riding and they work perfect.
12v supplied power. Since most bike don't have 12v power supplies, it appears that these bar heaters can also be used with a portable power banks.
It might make a difference of riding or not...
Your thoughts and suggestions...
Tia,

Sure would make a difference on those cold winter rides.

Use one of these to convert your e-bike battery voltage to 12V.

There is a more graceful way to solve the same problem:

And bluntly, brakes, shifters, and for that matter throttles aren't designed to be easily used while wearing heavy gloves. With pogies you can get away with wearing very light gloves and still be toasty warm. You have the added benefit that the controls in your cockpit are also warm and probably won't freeze.

I was thinking about handlebar mittens when I got my first ebike, then decided that I don't want to ride in the cold. 😂

I read a review of them.
One lady bought them for her son, and he didn't like them.
He said that in winter you can fall Really fast and he didn’t like how he couldn't get his hands out fast enough to break his fall.
He felt trapped on his handlebars.

YMMV

This is how I feel about snowboarding. Strap both feet to this thing and go 35MPH. F that.

How would you attach this neat item to a bike's battery, when you have no access to any battery wiring etc? I am not opening/messing with the battery.
My mistake. From some of your other posts, I just assumed you were a bit of a DIY'er.

Both the warmers you linked above have USB plugs which means they operate on 5V. If your bikes have USB ports that will handle 7.5W, you should be good to go. If not, your power bank idea would definitely be an option

A power bank like this should handle the USB version you linked to from eBay.

I have a feedbag that I use to carry 2 small power banks, the one I linked and the smaller version of it so I can always charge my phone that is running apps the whole time (EggRider, music, ridewithgps if I need a route going) and the bigger one to run my gopro 12 w/o internal battery.

Mr Coffee
I like that item, (Have them on my ATV), and they work very well,
but all my bikes have 11" tall mirrors at the end of the hand grips,
I don't ride around here without mirrors (On the county roads).
Do these Pogies come with zippered slots for these type of items mounted on the HB?

What I'd say is that most of those manufacturers are small-batch operations and they'd probably make you a custom model with your preferences.

Or you could make your own:

Thanks Dave
I have looked for a Bike handlebar extender like you show,
I found everything, but your type of item,
my Google Foo is NOT good, also.
Would this extender run those heated handwarmers?
Can you give me an Idea where to look?
Tia

The easy answer is to move to a place without any Winter. The hills here now are green and only getting greener with more Spring with each passing sunshine day. I will lead a large group ride tomorrow at before sunset. About 1/3rd will have gloves. We will take some hills to view the sunset at the start. Snow is fine to admire, as long as it is 100k away in the upper mountains for one morning. Happy Holidays from Petaluma, the other CA. Happy riding.

Can an outsider join your ride?
I left CA in the early 70's and have been back since.

There are no leaders and no origination. The ride is free for all. I might lead if people, or those who follow for the first third. Then I will fall back. It is always the first Friday at five from Walnut Park in Petaluma, CA. Come, Join us anytime for the First Friday at Five Group Ride. We will see cycling improvements and tour historic homes and neighborhoods. I hope my new friend shows up with her daughter. She knocks me out. I gave her a custom red restored classic Dutch eBike with a new torque sensor mid-drive. It does not look electric yet outruns bikes from stores. I gave away three bikes this holiday season. The red Dutch bike is only for a woman with exceptionally long legs. She has them and so much more. Wow. Just a hope. I would love to ride next to her. Or even behind her for the view.

wow,its still that green out there?( good luck on the "lass chase" OTH there may be a reason she is single"caveat emptor")
