Yes, they said take it for a day! It was more than good. The 20" size they had was small. If I order one it will be 22", their largest size, but there is no inventory now, so no rush. Fully refundable purchase within a week, plus they'll swap for quieter, in stock tires at no cost. The 27.5" wheels instead of 29" is probably the easiest of all the compromises each brand will require. I think this will be the way to go, but want to test ride a Talon, the Powerfly 4, and a Kona El Kahuna when they show up. Colorado winters, little in stock, and little at the fabs too.

Are you opening a can of worms for me Stefan? ;-) I have no full suspension bike history. With the 15% off, the Yamaha drive, it does look interesting. Is it legal to put a rack on a FS bike and go to the grocery store? I guess I'll have to take a ride at the local Giant shop when they get the Talon in.

Yes it is. The best U.S. MTB rack is Old Man Mountain. It is specifically ordered for a given bike make/model. Check it out.
