3.8" Option?

I think that’s going to be too wide for the rim as well as the frame/fork. What sort of riding are you looking to do? Are you concerned that a 2.8” won’t be wide enough?

This is too wide. I'm sure you already know about the fatbike Haibike product line. Now, theoretically you could install a 3.8" on the front provided you change the fork: for example, the 27.5+ Fox Factory 34 is wide enough to house a 3.8". However, you also need to keep in mind that you'll need to change the rims because typical rims for, say, a 2.6" are too narrow for 3.8". So you're looking at a complete front wheel rebuild: a boost hub (if you don't have one already), a much wider rim (we're talking 50mm at least) and then the tire.

I'd say that if you really want 3.8" you may as well go for a FatSix, and if you got for an ordinary bike, 3" tires are 'wide enough' for all purposes. Let's not forget that the choice of 27.5/3.8 is really limited (Maxxis Minion, Bontrager Hodag, maybe some Surly tires).
