2021 LIV Rove E+

That is a very nice looking bike, but I'm surprised that Giant couldn't fit a 500W battery into that large downtube. I'm not sure why Giant is staying with a smaller 400W battery when other manufacturers are increasing their battery watts. Maybe they're trying to keep the weight down.
50Nm of torque seems on the low side, compared to motors like the Bosch Gen 4, which puts out 85Nm.

Just keeping the cost down... of course with less torque, the power draw would likely to be less, so range equivalent ?

From electric bike report .com :

"... Yamaha are introducing the PWseries CE drive unit and the External Crossover battery to the Model Year 2021 line up .
Yamaha says it has "created it's lightest , quietest and most compact drive unit - and a battery that provides increased versatility and practicality . "

250W w/ 50Nm torque , 2.9kg (coaster brake version) ??
lightest drive unit ever created by Yamaha

Perhaps with this Core version of the SyncDrive Giant/Yamaha is competing with the new generation Bosch Active Line Plus motor which Court in his reviews says is quieter than the old design?
