2020 Vado 4.0 had non working motor on ride--so no E-bike assist. Message said motor not working

This was my 5th ride on my Vado 4.0 2020. I got a message saying the motor was not working (something to that effect). I have to take it into the shop but it cannot be looked at until Tuesday. The ride was rough. I went down a long hill and the way back was with a heavier bike that had no battery assist. I loved my bike until this happened. So what might be the cause? I hope this does not mean my bike will be a constant trouble that does not work like it should.

1) The battery may not be seated correctly. New mounting hardware may be a little snug and stiff so disconnect and reconnect the battery. Make sure the battery is correctly connected.
2) Check your cables. Make sure something didn't get disconnected. If nothing is obviously disconnected I'd recommend waiting until it can be checked at your bike shop.
