Im about to purchase a 2019 Radmini. Any suggestions on which to get between the 2019 Radmini or Radmini step-thru? I'm male 5"7. Thank You

I got the 2018 rad mini, I’m 70 and it is a little hard getting the leg over the seat. I’m 6’3”, about 230 in weight. If they had the low rider last year I would be riding it now.

I am short, 5'4", 28" inseam and have the regular. I tilt the bike to get my leg over. I think if I were getting one now, it would be the step through. I grew up riding hand me down bikes that always seemed too big for me. So maybe I'm used to it?

If you are going to be primarily riding roads and bike paths or have any plans to put a rack on the back and carry any kind of loads (like going shopping or the like) go for the step through. The high step looks like it would be better if you are going to do some off-road cycling with it.

My concerns are the rad mini could be changed next year and the newly released step thru is a bit more designed for the girls.

I don’t know if there are girls/boys bikes anymore, either way it doesn’t bother me. I would take the low rider down to the bingo hall and make some new friends!!!

Uh, you're being a bit "old fashioned" here. Do you know why there used to be "girl" bikes? It was because we had to wear dresses and that bar kind of didn't work with dresses. That was then, although there's nothing wrong with being a girl, is there? Hope you are not one of those who are passing along the sexism of the past to your kids or grandkids.

I put bling on my chainsaw hoping that manly men would not want to use it. The men I know were not fazed by my blingy saw. They used it.

So far the score is 7 for step-thru and 0 for the top tube model. I asked the same question to Rad bikes. Told them my age, height and that I ride now a Giant carbon road bike for exercise purpose. "Which model would be better for me? "They responded this "Thanks for reaching out! All of our bikes are designed to be unisex, and you should fit on both the RadMini and RadMini Step-Thru well! It is just a matter if you want a more accessible frame or not." Im starting leaning towards the step thru after reading to all the great advice I got here.
