2015 E3 Metro Battery Charging Issues????

I have a 2015 E3 Metro, which I LOVE- BUT I have had intermittent battery charging issues. My dealer has swapped chargers, cables, batteries and the computer, but I still have issues with no clear pattern, The battery will charge on or off the bike for several days and then suddenly one day it will not charge. Has anyone had any issue with a 2015 model? Is there a problem with the 48V battery and the battery charger???? I am now returning my bike and my dealer is giving me a brand new 2015 E3 Metro bike- maybe my first one is a lemon??? No one else has purchased a 2015 model at my shop so I am hoping others out there can give me information. I really love this bike and there is no other out there that has all the attributes that this one does. I really need to be able tho trust that my battery will charge EVERY time I need it as I commute 36 miles a day and can't get to work and back on one battery charge no matter how much I pedal ( lots of wind and hills make it hard to pedal without any help after a days work!) thx Diane

Its possible there was an issue with the internal battery managment system (BMS) which would monitor charge/discharge cycles. However, if that were the issue, then simply replacing the battery would solve the issue. If it were the charger then, same thing. Perhaps your shop did some other diagnostics to justify replacing the whole bike. Although that's an uncommon solution, that's one of the great points with Currie Tech, the E3 Metro manufacturer--they really do stand behind their product. If you have really warm, humid weather then the LiIon battery has to cool before charging, but the internal BMS or charger would monitor temp and come on once the battery was at the right temperature. Sounds like you have a good bike shop to work with, @dianep and a lot of miles to rack up!

Picked up my NEW Metro E3 yesterday- will be carefully watching the battery and charger and have fingers crossed that will have no problems with this bike. My dealer was fantastic ( Ajo Bike in Tucson, AZ) and Currie has been very supportive.
