My old 2012 E-Aspect motor makes a clicking noise when going uphill. The steeper the hill, the more frequent the clicking, reaching every 1.5–2 pedal rotations on steep climbs. However, there’s no noise when pedaling downhill, ruling out an issue with the pedals.
I’d appreciate any insights on what might be causing this and how difficult/expensive it is to repair. Given the bike's age, I’m open to attempting a complex repair, but I don’t want to spend too much since I could just buy a new e-bike.
