HUB vs MID DRIVE - how can I compare?

Deleted Member 4210! Thanks for the truly educational post. Forums like this inspire great posts like yours which in turn inspire many, many people to be part of this unique world. My budget can go as high as $5k per bike (I need two - one for me - one for the misses) but want to make an...

Which One? Fat Tire / Plus Tire / Suspension

Thanks for taking the time to write this up! If you were starting g from scratch and riding a lot on dirt / off road treks.... would you go with the fat tire bike or the plus tire like the one that you have. We will be on pavement - but not all that much. And we need a bike rack so the full...

HUB vs MID DRIVE - how can I compare?

Thanks all - this has been a huge help! Starting to lean towards the hub motor. Really will be on road / dirt trails / snow / and moderate trails. We are in Colorado a lot of the time and really not looking to go on super tech trails... more going out making our own way.

I really want to be able to go off road pretty far and who knows what the terrain will be. Have you ridden the suspension version as well? What kind of terrain are you most comfortable with on your setup? Thanks!_steve

Which One? Fat Tire / Plus Tire / Suspension

The folding bikes are on the bottom of my list as they don't have as solid control - those handlebars are move a lot when you are on trails... but... if the others won't fit under that drop down bed then the Rad will be one of the ones I'll think about! I rode the Rad Mini once in Seattle -...

Thanks for your reply - it was most helpful. Not many people post about their experiences after a good amount of time / miles... mostly I have been reading "I just got it and the first 50 miles were great!". That is cool but to hear a long-term review is awesome..!_steve

Thanks! I've been watching tons of Court's videos since the beginning really. I think he is a BEAST in this world - really the only one that consistently creates relative content. But things change and I just wanted the latest and greatest as I see more bikes purpose built with the mid drive.

HUB vs MID DRIVE - how can I compare?

I am researching the heck out of a bike I can use as an overland trail bike. We have a Winnebago Revel on the way and need to match it up with a bike that can get us around some cool trails. I've noticed some bikes have the option of a 350 w Mid Drive and a 500 w Hub Drive. Can someone help me...
