Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

Mine had a twig/stick like a short pencil that had gotten behind the motor cover that I found while attempting to remove the motor to send it off for repair, being convinced I had bad sprag clutch causing the click. For me it was occuring on every crank rev when my right leg began its power...

Vado SL 4.0 Deore drivetrain upgrade suggestions

I remember seeing cable clips around the battery, crap, thx for that thought. I took the motor out in October thinking I had broken a sprag clutch pawl on a nasty pedal clipin that freaked the motor out for a few seconds. What I found was a pencil size stick inside the housing giving me a...

Vado SL 4.0 Deore drivetrain upgrade suggestions

M5100 was considered, certainly affordable. But noticing pulley wheels are bushings not bearings, warned me the groupset was not the quality level I was after. Putting $20 Ultegra pulleys I had laying around on the Deore I have was a tremendous upgrade in shift quality but I want the complete...

Vado SL 4.0 Deore drivetrain upgrade suggestions

11s in XT or GX will be a huge upgrade for bike and myself, lol. 11-42/44 Shimano M8000-11 cassettes have my attention, assuming that works ez with no shims or filing to whatever HG thats on a 10s Vado SL?

Vado SL 4.0 Deore drivetrain upgrade suggestions

There might be a wildcat 12s that would work on HG? but would likely include 1 or 2 big cogs I'd never use so I haven't looked in that direction yet. I just found a Shimano M8000 11s 11-42t exists so I'm going to study that option also.

Vado SL 4.0 Deore drivetrain upgrade suggestions

'21 model with 4,400 miles, battery 100%. The Deore 10s developed stiction in the clutch which chewed up two tension wheels before I figured out what was going on. Tinkered with the clutch and got disgusted, I want to retire it and hopefully upgrade. Help a snowbound Arkansan here - HG...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

JM, interesting observation and regretfully I feel the same.. a buddy just bought the SL2 and I'm glad he can keep up on the climbs now lol. I hopped on after our ride and it didn't 'feel' like a carbon bike, except in the front. I'm sure that seat stay design is for compliance but it didn't...

Upgrading Vado SL Shimano Drivetrain From 10 to 12-speed

FYI, this $8 part Y0CR21000 gets rid of the 'optical gear indicator' on Deore shifters. In theory you should replace the clamp part also but a knife will remove the tiny piece of plastic on it that obviously has to come off. Indicator was constantly snagging my gloves after twiddling with my...

That Tracer has the same tread pattern that runs down the center of the Rhombus that's so dang fast! Didn't know they existed, I may have to declare myself in need of 'summer tire'. First hint of wet leaves in the fall I gotta have some knobs tho.

Thanks friends for the reassuring instructions, unplugged the light wires under the TCU, cut the rear taillight wire and left it in there, simple once you say goodbye to those sweet lights.. But now I have my Fizik saddle, cobblegobbler, and 30mm more stem on my 4.0. Took me 3 years, my butt...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Noticing Stefan's excellent explain of 'slam' I saw no pics. This shows the stem 'flip', yes keep the light the mounts swap around. Full 'slam' implies all spacers removed below the stem, not shown. Saddle position implies I ride on the 'horn'. Flatbar gravel, 3yrs 12k miles of smiles...
