    Heavy Rider, need suggestions

I have the Fold1 which i am very happy with except for the range. The Fold1Plus solves that issue. I’m 260 on a good day and it doesn’t have any problems. I got this because of the low step-over height, and the footprint is smaller than my Ride1Up cruiser (which we really like). I don’t use...

    New handlebar

That’s $25 canuck money, lots more in real world money, my piece of wood dowel was free. Why spend money when it’s not necessary? Actually you could use a piece of 3/4” dia sched 40 pvc pipe, the od is something like 1.05”.

    New handlebar

Thanks but that doesn’t apply at all to my bike. . A is the factory handlebar bracket, it is permanently swaged into the stem B. I think when they did that, it swelled the stem slightly and that’s why i initially had trouble getting the extender bracket C to go all the way to the top...

    New mirrors day

I bought mirrors from velotric for my Fold1 bike, they work well but i am really concerned with the little bitty stem between the mirror and the part that goes into the end of the bar.

    New mirrors day

Out riding today, came up on a couple riding slowly down the path. Thought to myself … self, she needs a mirror. As i passed he4 i noticed she did have a mirror, a small round one … mounted at the middle of the handlebar.

Some people learn by making mistakes. Then again, some people never learn.

    New handlebar

Huh. Well that makes me feel better … not the first person to need a bushing. I ordered one just so i will look professional 🤡 but I don’t have any doubts about the leather one.

    New handlebar

So now the bracket is fastened to the stem. Looks great! Just what i wanted. Oops. So then i started on moving the handlebar to the extender bracket. Turns out i had ordered the wrong size, i got a bracket for a 31 mm handlebar but mine was 25 mm (more or less). Crap. And of course i...

    New handlebar

Spoke … i did it … i ordered one of those brackets and installed it today. Almost worked. I started by removing the handlebar from the stem, and fitting the extender bracket to the stem. It was supposed to be the correct size, but it was a very snug fit, so i inserted a wedge in the bracket...

    I like that. Thanks.

    New handlebar

Here are sketches of both of my bars, the straighter one with the 4” makes me reach too far, I would like something around 7”. The width isn’t a problem.

    New handlebar

Spoke … here’s 2 pictures. I think it’s because of the folding feature, the handlebar is a little narrow and doesn’t have much backsweep. And the first picture shows the concave part of the stem.

Metric Conversion Speed Trick, 20 to 28mph

Sorry to have bothered you karen.

    New handlebar

That’s actually not a bad idea, but the velotric has a non-round stem so i don’t know if it would work. I looked on-line at my local bike shop, they claim to have several in stock for decent prices, it would probably be worth a trip. Or … i could just cut about 4” off the longer bar, but that...

Metric Conversion Speed Trick, 20 to 28mph

So my class 3 bike … if i do the same procedure will it go faster than normal class 3?

    Uber Eats and DoorDash

On the surface i agree with the proposed requirements … if they apply to riding the bike on the street as a door dash person would. Most of those drivers tend to disobey most traffic laws already, can you imagine how they will be on 2 wheels.

    xp4 750 pedal assist jumpy

I don’t know that bike, but i would expect the assist to be a little aggressive in sport mode. Isn’t that the purpose … to give quick response?

    New handlebar

I would like to replace the stock handlebar on my bike, what is a good on-line source? It’s for my velotric folding bike. The stock bar is a little narrow, which i can deal with, but it’s almost straight across which causes me to reach a little more than i want. I tried to swap the bar...

    How would you do it?

Not sure i agree it’s a better design ... but it is a different design. The load is carried more vertically, which puts it closer to the bike but also raises the center of gravity. Either could work well, just have to evaluate the pros and cons and make a decision.
