    Bosch battery chemistry?

well it has to do with capacity reduction, all Li ion batteries slowly lose capacity and I’m finding it all counts here

    Bosch battery chemistry?

Anybody know if it is LFP or NMC? Reason being the former doesn’t care being chages to 100% whereas the latter does. I try to store my bikes at 80% during the week but maybe I needn’t bother. Only indication I‘ve found is Bosch recommends long term storage at 60%. They are cylindrical cells...

    Giving up my car

I know I have two of them on my other bikes, but in the Smart they just came out with … a slightly bigger Kiox. Well if fooferdoggie is accurate maybe eventually I’ll get a Nyon.

    Giving up my car

Well I don’t like the phone dependence - maybe that will change. I don’t like the small displays, nor the minimalistic wireless only controls. Maybe these things will change but it looks like to me that it‘s a fundamental different design philosophy - minimalism versus the rich feature...

    Giving up my car

If you want to record stats and ride. Even the Kiox dumbs out if there’s no phone, it won’t display miles, elevation etc without a phone.

    Giving up my car

I wrote on another thread my thoughts on Gen 3 (smart) vs Gen 2 - I have both. I vastly prefer Gen 2. Only thing going for Gen 3 is that the motors have a better noise profile so sound quieter, but the software and features stink compared to Gen 2. Maybe someday Gen 3 will equal or beat Gen 2...

Reason for price discrepancy between R&M and Gazelle

Paint is first class on mine and no oil leaks. I posted on this forum a service bulletin from Rohloff about the supposedly massive ‘oil leak‘ scandal. It’s a rare phenomenon which occurs from storing the bike in a certain way under fluctuating temp conditions IIRC. There is a mechanical seal and...

    2024 Delite 4 and Superdelite

To be honest I wouldn’t want the Smart system. I have a Gen 2 Superdelite and Nevo, and a Gen 3 Smart Pole Voima. My assessment Pro: the smart motors are more quiet, or at least the frequency spectrum is lower so it’s more pleasant to ride Con: I call it ‘the dumb system’. They took all the...

Hypotheticals - would you replace your R&M with another R&M??

I love my Superdelite, I’d get another for sure. It’s such a pleasure to ride, everything is so well thought out with top components (and a price to match). It does everything well but nothing perfect, and I’m in biking distance to three state and local parks with world class bike trails. I...

Hitch rack for Superdelite with fenders?

With Brandon’s help I ended up with a Kuat Piston Pro (thanks!) - really happy. Really the top drawer rack - these expensive bikes I have deserve no less. Looks beautiful, super easy to use and is rock steady.

Hitch rack for Superdelite with fenders?

The HighNoon FC Solo is ‘fender ready’, but max weight is 60 lbs. I put my Superdelite sans batteries on my Park scale which maxes at 55 lbs and it went overrange. Spec is around 70 lbs.

Hitch rack for Superdelite with fenders?

What works? It’s a heavy expensive bike, and I don’t want to take off the fenders, what rack works with this bike?

    New SuperDuperDelite!

Thanks to the kind help from the folks on this forum I made the big leap to the Superdelite. Crazy kind of situation, they already had one built at the factory in my specs (Silver, GX/Fox, Rohloff in my size) so order to ride was probably under a month including shipping, my head is still...

The world's longest bicycle tunnel - or maybe the second longest anyway :)

Europe is really pro-tunnel compared to the US, on the West Coast we prefer going overland. Maybe earthquakes have something to do with it. The one thing we see more of here than in Europe I think is the Rails2Trails. Here in California last year the Governer just signed off on the Great Redwood...

New Riese and Müller Delite Review

Dumb question: why do many bike bags have built-in bags? Meaning an inner lining that can nominally carry more stuff (it heightens the bag with the top of the outer bag unzipped), but then the lid of the bag won’t zipper down and flops around, and otherwise they take up more space and are a...

New Riese and Müller Delite Review

Agreed, nobody would argue that anything but a derailleur is best for racing because as you say every ounce and % efficiency. But for reliability hub gears appear to be tops, a chain/derailleur will easily gunk up/get wedged while belt/gear hubs go right through it. However I’m looking for an...

New Riese and Müller Delite Review

That’s good to know. I‘ll probably get a e-mtb for rougher rides, got my eye on a Trek Rail or something like that, but they’re all chain. I can’t find a gear hub dedicated mtb (other than the Super/Delite which to me seems more of an all rounder) Interesting about the Rohloff oil leak - didn’t...

New Riese and Müller Delite Review

Well you said it’s only the cost of a second battery to upgrade, right? :) Anyhow I got out of cycling just when disc brakes, shocks and gear hubs were becoming a thing, all your talk about how good this ride is getting me anxious to see what a good bike is like in the 21st century.

New Riese and Müller Delite Review

Me too. What pannier do you have there in that picture? Agree. This will be my first suspension and hub bike, but unless you need to shave every ounce and are a racer I don’t know why people still use deraillures. Well they are cheaper too, and a friend likes having something to fiddle with...

    Wrapping a Superdelite

Because it’s expensive? Should be obvious, but maybe you’re thinking of something else, I’m talking about clear automotive wrap, the bike looks the same but is better protected from injury. Besides keeping it looking spiff, if you ever decide to part with it keeping it wrapped will help with...
