    E-Bike Battery Guide

"Smorg", your perspective on the subject on SoC and DoD for prolonging the useful capacity of Li-ion batteries is very helpful! Thanks for sharing! One important key understanding from your note: Charging to 100% is not as bad as keeping or storing the battery at 100%!

Thinking strongly about ordering the CCX

That's a Brooks B-17 special edition. After about 22,000 miles the rails snapped back in the Fall of 2018. It is now on its second set of rails -with more than 24,000 miles of use. That honey brown leather loves an occasional dose of coconut oil. Here are a couple of images photographed before I...

Wow, 3 crashes and it is only October! You may be getting to a point in the aging process to ease up a bit. Not to slow down necessarily, but to save on the costs of damaging bike and body. There is a crapload of danger in slow-speed maneuvering.🏥 🚴‍♂️

How many miles do you have on your ebike?

Oh yeah! As far as ebikes go, the CCX is fabulous. If I could I wish for something different, it would be to have a battery as powerful as the one on the CCX put in a lighter more compact pack, but the technology isn't it to that level yet. c

I am happy to know you are healing well and back riding! Having never embraced clip-less pedals mostly for because clipless shoes would require a shoe change after commuting to work. What HAS worked well for me are Power Grip pedals. https://mrpbike.com/collections/power-grips I too am...

    Converting 2005 Globe

I've been thinking of converting my old Globe. I'm basically ignorant as to how go about getting some of the electrical components I'll need for a conversion. Since my first ebike cracked its frame, I've been planning to utilize it's components for a DIY project. I have a Nexus 8 rear hub along...

    Ghost pedaling

Far superior indeed! And in fact it is possible to expend an equal effort per minute whether on an ebike or on a non-ebike.

    Ghost pedaling

In consideration of gearing with any bike: Changing gears enables a rider to maintain an optimal cadence when encountering nominal elevation variances. That, along with a combination of cadence and torque assist, allows the ebike rider to maximize efficiency. A combination of cadence and torque...

How many miles do you have on your ebike?

Having a blast on my ebike! It has been a fast 34 work commutes so far this year. Rides on the CCX ebike have averaged 19.26 mph, making windchill a significant factor. I am wearing a windbreaker even in 60-70 degree temperatures.

How many miles do you have on your ebike?

The coldest temperature in which I rode the CCX was 31ºF ; At times I encountered some precipitation. I never attempted to ride unless the roadway was clear of ice and snow. The CCX is a fast ride and averaging speeds over 18 mph can be uncomfortable. The biggest factor preventing me from Winter...

Charging to 80% without a Satiator

It's not difficult to grasp the overall concept of battery wear. Even with the most sparing use of a Li-Ion battery, it ultimately will need to be replaced sooner or later! A battery, rechargeable or not, for any device, is meant to be replaced periodically.
