Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

I half-sympathise with you but my sympathy is rather challenged with envy. Here in Britain we do have cycle paths which are wonderful but underused, often poorly maintained (although some tracks in Scotland are just incredible) and, well, just not integrated properly. For instance a 6 mile cycle...

Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

Stefans post looks like a useful guide. Around here, on country roads in Cumbria the main concern is with horses and riders so I use my voice which also comes with a handy volume control which I can adjust to suit the situation.

No this does not happen on mine. I have to apply some pressure on the pedal.

Well.....I think its wise of Moss to deal with local people he knows and trusts. I know that seems hypocritical of me as I am constantly recommending my Cumbrian Scott dealer on here, but that's because I know and trust them. Well, yes, I like them too and I kind of want them to continue to...

Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

If it helps and if you don’t want to wait that long you could ask your local bike shop if they have stock swapping arrangements among Scott dealers. Aragon’s sourced a small Genesis for me from another dealer a few years back.

I seem to be turning this post into an ad for Arragon’s, but they do have a couple in stock. If you buy off them I have been promised afternoon tea in a local cafe. With cake!

Deacon Blues I contacted Arragons about your question regarding the new Solace bikes and Sarah, one of the owners, replied with this - "Solaces haven’t come into stock yet but we are due some, I think I’ve got about 6 confirmed in my order. They use a different tech to the eAddict Mahle, it’s...

Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

Deacon Blues - I'm 73 and am very very comfortable on my eRide 30. I could have a more upright riding position if I wanted but Arragons did a great job in fitting me up with a riding position that I feel comfortable for miles with. Miles and miles and miles......... If you prefer the Solace...

4900 is bang on IMO. The tyres are tubed (very good too). I got one axle release thingy which I played with to make sure I knew how to work it. There are a load of bits that come with the bike to raise the stem and other things which are in a box in case I want to adjust it, though Arragons did...

Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

I still love it unconditionally! The iPhone app is now up and running fully though I rely on the Garmin Edge on rides. There were a few rattles which were cured, one being the drivetrain, which responded to smoove lubricant and the other which I discovered to be the HMI connectors in the...

Scott e-RIDE Addict 30 and the world of easier hills

One more thing. I’ve been irritated by an intermittent rattle since I got the bike. The main culprit was the drive chain which was cured when I started using Smoove lubricant, but there was another which was not that loud but very irritating on a bike that costs this much. My Genesis...

Hello Moss Thank you for your kind remarks about my review - glad you enjoyed it and hope it is helpful. Like JustRiding, I hardly use the app on rides. Although its latest firmware/software update, released just before Christmas, claims less battery drain, I haven’t used it on a ride. I also...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

When I translated r1romans message today I realised that posting pdf files means that people can't translate it. It may be me, but I found the Mahle instructions difficult to follow and made many mistakes before I got my e-ride firmware updated successfully, so I wrote to Mahle and sent them...

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Hello JaviGPZ I think I have updated the firmware successfully - the mobile app says the new firmware is in place - but there is no motor adjustment mode. Is this correct? Or should I re-install the firmware?

I’ll ring my dealer tomorrow to make sure I am not misleading you. it was a remark made during a general conversation about manufacturers and their dealer support so I may have misheard.

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

Antonio Alfaro I feel that I must at least make you aware that the local dealer that I made a tongue in cheek remark to Javi about is actually awaiting a response from Mahle regarding a dead off x35 system following an update the firmware on….an Orbea.

Your experiences with the new Mahle MySmartBike app (replacement for Ebikemotion)

I did not bother as my bike is running well Sensible. I have an irritating rattle on the Scott which comes and goes more or less as it likes. The thought of someone dismantling it and putting it back together again does not fill me with confidence.
