Lectric XP - Correct Threading Die

SB9 thread chart. I would guesstimate $100 from a Good machinist to have it done. Depth of thread would only be about .020” per side with 26 TPI.

Lectric XP - Correct Threading Die

You can find a cheap die, but could not guarantee results. Stem tube needs to be about 1/8” wall thickness. Could be done on a lathe, single pointing the threads, between centers after making an appliance to hold the fork end.

    Kickstand mounting bolts stripped

Just saw Tars post after typing this. And yes, I agree with Tars about the nut. After looking at your recent pictures, there is a pretty good probability that there are / were no threads in the frame. Only worn in threads from the bolt pushing against the hole to swage / deform the hole...

    Kickstand mounting bolts stripped

You could also use a Dremel tool with a cut-off wheel to grind a screwdriver slot in the stud. Or a small chisel and hammer around the periphery of the stud to rotate it CCW.

    Kickstand mounting bolts stripped

If you are drilling a stainless steel bolt, center punch first, using slow spindle speed, smaller drill bit and cutting fluid (oil) to keep it from work hardening. Gradually work up in drill bit size until you get close to the threads. Then use a square type easy-out. Free All penetrating oil...

A good candidate for mountain bike conversion?

Bottom bracket may not accommodate a Mid Drive. You would have to get dimensions.

How do you keep rust of your bike/bolts/parts

I worked at N.A.S. Pensacola. People would spray machines down with WD-40 at the end of day shift to come back to brown surfaces, (rust), the next day. ATF or Marvel Mystery Oil works. Just sayin.

    azor tweelingfiets build thread

Looks like a good project! Probably have to build some kind of bridge / spacer to go between the motor and the bottom bracket to run the cables through.

How do you keep rust of your bike/bolts/parts

Johnsons Paste Wax makes a good sealer for Ferrous parts. Apply it, then wipe it off. I use it on my machine tables and I live in the rust belt. My .02

    Folding Rear Bike Baskets

I am looking into getting folding rear bike baskets that would be permanently attached to my bike. I would like them to fold flat reducing the overall width so as not to hinder mounting the bikes on my Saris bike carrier. What is popular and works? TIA, Keith

    Disabling PAS on turns

And when then newly installed turn sensors fail and someone crashes and burns, then what to do? IMO, there just needs to be instructions explaining this tendency accompanying the bike. Everybody reads instructions. Right?

    New to E-bikes

I ended up getting the 44T ring for $21 shipped to try out. I know that 42T was recommended, but after some thought, decided that I kind of wanted to stay on a larger rear cog for more teeth engagement to help distribute the load. Going camping and hopefully riding this weekend and will...

    750W 48V BBS02B kit on Trek FX 7.2

The P850C Display, out of the box was set for 5 PAS levels, with the Speed Limit set at 99. 0 being no assist. On a setting of 1, it took off pretty fast and did not require much assistance from me. Assistance increased with each higher level. With a 44T chain ring I topped out at 31 mph...
