Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I have had a rather strange message come up on my specialised app following my recent rides. There is a warning triangle and the message reads “we’ve detected inaccuracies in your ride recording data.Tap for more information” when I tap for more information the message is “missing...

Motor on Turbo Vado SL5 not working

Thanks Stefan, I opened the app and went into the bike tuning section and all 3 modes had reverted to the lowest part of the graph! (10/10). I reset each one to my previous settings and went for a test ride- all working fine! I have no idea how or why all the settings went to the lowest assist...

Motor on Turbo Vado SL5 not working

Hi, I went to ride my turbo Vado SL5 today, switched on and everything appeared to be working normally. As per usual I set off without the motor on and after a couple of hundred yards pressed the switch to turn on the motor and nothing happened in terms of motor function. The display showed a...

    2022 vado sl 5.0 chainring

As the front chainring is designed for an 11 speed chain I‘m wondering if an 11 speed chain would also work with the 12 speed cassette, they are a lot cheaper than 12 speed chains?

    2022 vado sl 5.0 chainring

I bought it in advance of the original one wearing out. I’m just coming up to 5000miles and plan to change it when the current cain wears out, probably in about 1000miles time or so. I’m on my third chain at the moment.

    2022 vado sl 5.0 chainring

I noticed the same thing when I ordered a new front chain ring for my TurboVado SL5. I hope Specialised can supply an explanation for this.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Finally got my wife‘s Turbo Vado SL4.0 set up comfortable for her to ride. With her back problems the reach was to great and handlebars to wide. LBS reduced width of handlebars from 27inches to 24, and added riser stem but that didn’t do it, so we removed riser stem and replaced it with a 35mm...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I think you’ll be really happy with the turbo Vado SL4 it’s a perfect bike for what you’re planning on biking. I was at a conference in Atlanta quite a few years ago and I hired a bike to ride part of the Silver Comet Trail. I really enjoyed riding the trail, my journey to the bike hire shop was...

Do I have my Range Extender installed correctly?

I think that looks correct. Here’s a picture of mine, there is very little, if any, slack.

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

My wife’s new you turbo Vado SL4 EQ, step through, small, was delivered today. She is absolutely delighted with it. Has been out on her first ride today. Only slight disappointment is that is fitted with the 10 bar TCU rather than the mastermind display, which I have on my SL5. 22% discount on...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Thanks for writing this account of how to change the internal spring. I also had three springs in the supplied box when my bike arrived and having read your account. I decided I have a look inside my future shock as well, no spring! I put the medium strength spring in, as you did, and found, but...

    TEKTRO HD-R510 pad replacement

Following your question, I have now loocked up which pads to get for the Tektro HD-R510 system on the Tektro website (wish I had done this beforehandand) and I now realise that I bought the wrong ones! The ones to go for a Tektro F10BS. There is also a very helpful video on the site for this...

    TEKTRO HD-R510 pad replacement

TektroA10-11, I didn’t know which ones to get as there was quite a big choice, are these the right ones?

    TEKTRO HD-R510 pad replacement

I want to change the pads on these Tektro disc brakes fitted to my Vado SL5. It appears that there is only one screw to remove and I’m wondering if anyone has changed the pads on this model of Tektro brakes and if so, could they advise me on how to do this. It appears that there is only one...

    Firmware update for charging limit

I think this is another upgrade that I shall not be getting for a long while as it’s just so difficult to get to the Specialised bike shop, I’m glad I never did the last upgrade as it has made little or no difference to my riding pleasure. I know how long it takes to charge my bike to 80% from...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Interesting, I have done the same mileage as you, replaced chain once, at 1700 miles, still with original brakes, and I haven’t installed the latest software upgrade either ( too awkward to get to LBS).

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

Here in the UK I also received the same email about the update. It really is extremely difficult for me to take the bike to the nearest specialised retailer, They like to hold onto the bike for the whole day, and what do you update, while I wait, and that means I have to make my own way home on...

Discrepancy in stated size of Tyres on my Turbo Vado SL 5 EQ

Thanks, If I knew then what I know now I would have bought the 37-622 tyres! I’ll wait a bit longer to see if the rub is liveable with before another change.

Discrepancy in stated size of Tyres on my Turbo Vado SL 5 EQ

After I got a rear tyre puncture yesterday I decided to change the rear tyre from the original Nimbus II sport ( very difficult to remove from rim by the way!) to Schwalbe Marathon E plus 700 x 38, I immediately noticed a very slight rubbing of the tyre on the mudguard. I thought that both...
