Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

After a rash of flats I decided to give these (maybe not the exact same brand) a try and I've had good luck with them; knock on wood. https://tinyurl.com/mwytdec2

Hey, I’m too old for crashes.. 😎 (Of course that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.)

I had the same issue and my LBS had a Specialized chain guard that works on my TVSL. Check around.

I think the update will indeed help your wonky turbo. I had the same issue and that's what seems to have fixed it.

I ditched the Bridge Sport when I had perineal issues after having a renal stent rather painfully removed and got an SQLab, which I like. But up till then it worked well for me with or without padded shorts and now that I’m healed up would probably still be fine. I’m hanging on to it.

Here's what the TOGs look like mounted. Note that I rotated my shifters upward to compensate for my bad thumb.

You might want to check these out as an alternative to Inner Bar Ends. I have an arthritic right thumb and this helps a lot. Also keeps my other hand from falling asleep. At first I only used them sparingly but now most of the time. And only US$20...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I had my LBS install one for me — there's a specific Specialized one — after I dropped my chain twice in the same week. It jammed both times between the crank and the frame. The second time it would not come loose and I had to call my wife to come get me. Thank goodness I was on a dirt road and...

Hey Cody — Do you have any other recommendations for gravel rides around Salida? We usually go down there once a summer. Last year I rode my road bike up Poncha Pass but I'll probably take the Vado SL this time.

I don’t understand what use an Air Tag would be, since according to a review I read the range is only ~800 ft. A thief would be that far away in no time.

Testing out my new SQLab 611saddle. Found it really stiff on the first ride but it felt better yesterday. Most important to me, no perineal pressure that I could tell. Had a glorious ride up Boulder Canyon Trail to Cameron Drive, a three mile dirt connector to the summit of Flagstaff Mountain...

Even though the stock saddle has generally worked well for me, I’ve been having issues with perineal pressure so I’ve decided to take your advice. I just found the chromoly 611 Ergowave saddle on sale for $60 at REI in a size that should work for me. I can pick it up tomorrow so we shall see...

These are excellent and only 50 bucks, large or small. https://www.crankbrothers.com/products/stamp-1-small

I’ve gotta agree. The combo of the Freeriders and Stamp 1 pedals gets pretty close to clipless on the upstroke.

FYI, I recently bought Crank Bros. Stamp 1 pedals for ~US$40. After three rides I really love them. They are as close as I can imagine to the clipless pedals on my road bike.

Stefan — I’ve searched the internet and cannot find these tires. Other Panaracers, yes, but not the Bliss2. All I see are in the Gravel King line.

Me, too. Maybe Stefan will share with us how he handled it.

For anyone who has put the Redshift seatpost on the Vado SL: Is there a way to keep using the rear light mounted on the saddle?
