Vado 4.0 Motor Issues and Motor Replacement/Repair Cost?

I had been experiencing inconsistent power output on my 2020 Vado 4.0 including the motor shutting off after a shift, which sounded and felt quite hard, in turbo mode. I took it to a shop who evidently only ran a computer diagnostic and said that nothing came up. I am guessing they didn't do a...

    Surly Skid Loader

This looks pretty cool and I love the concept of a compact cargo bike. I want a cargo bike but can't justify having a second ebike just for cargo and a normal cargo bike won't fit into my elevator. However, the skid loader seems overpriced. It costs almost $5k and doesn't come with lights and...

    Best Wireless Earbuds for Ebikes

I've been using Aftershokz (now just called shokz) Aeroplex headphones for about two years now. I am on my second pair as the first one was warrantied and the current one is having the same issue. Something inside breaks loose and rattles around like a chime. I don't notice it while riding at...

Jones H Bar on Turbo Vado: Relocating the Headlight

I didn't end up needing to lengthen my brake cables. There was juuuust enough left. If I had to lengthen the stem at all, which I am considering, I'll need to replace the rear brake hose.

Jones H Bar on Turbo Vado: Relocating the Headlight

I actually ordered one earlier in the week. I'll update this thread once I've had a chance to mount it in the next few days. I did end up finding a mounting solution for the light but I don't know if there is enough slack in the wire for the light to move it from the area of the stem to the...

Jones H Bar on Turbo Vado: Relocating the Headlight

I though that I had posted a photo of this before but it turns out that I didn't. I'd need a hanging mount compatible with the tube size of the H bars which should be 22.2 to use the current light.

Jones H Bar on Turbo Vado: Relocating the Headlight

I'd like to swap the stock bars on my 2020 turbo vado 4.0 for a set of Jones H bars but would want to relocate headlamp. Is there a mount that I can use to easily relocate the light from the stem to the front loop of the H bars? I'd like to use a bag that goes in the loop of the H bars and while...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I have the ten speed unfortunately with the CS-HG500 cassette. I can find 11t XT 10 speed cogs but there are at least two part numbers I'm seeing. One for an 11-32 cassette and another for the 11-36. I am striking out on HG500 specific cogs.

Do you by chance have the part numbers for the 11 and 13 tooth cogs? I need to replace those and probably the 15 tooth as well.

There are many downsides to motor oil as a bicycle lubricant. Motor oil is designed to be applied at pressure and at high temperature within a sealed environment where it is filtered and kept away from moisture, mud, and dust. It is too thick to really penetrate the rollers and pins on a...

Motor oil is a bad choice for bicycle chains. It is too thick and it is not designed to be used in the environment that bicycle chains operate in.

Larger Tires on 2021 Vado 4.0 SL

If it wasn't an ebike, I'd probably shoot a tad bit higher than the Silca calculator and do 33 and 35. My preference with a 50mm tire for my Vado (I'll probably be going to 50mm when my 47s wear out) would be somewhere around 40-43psi. With wider tires, one or two psi makes a detectable...

Larger Tires on 2021 Vado 4.0 SL

This is might not be a good idea. Tire PSI should be chosen by weight of the bike+rider+weight distribution+surface conditions. If you are a heavier rider, you'll want to run more pressure to avoid pinch flats and dinging the rims on potholes and curb cuts. I personally run a little higher...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Last I saw, the SunRace 10 speed 11-42 cassettes were anywhere from $60 to $70. They have two (maybe three) versions of varying weights.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I figured I'd hop in here for my first post. My Turbo Vado 4.0 is almost two years old now and crossed over 3540 miles (5700k) this morning with most of the miles being put on in the last fourteen months. It is completely stock save for a bottle cage, Schwalbe Energizer Plus 700x47 tires, and...
