    Roadster V3

Bummer. I’ve had a different brand e-bike that had a similar fit/tolerance issue with the battery, but was able to get it to work well enough. And after a while, the mechanism loosened up, and I found the consistent way that it worked reliably. Would you even have to remove the battery that...

    Roadster V3

Have fun, and looking forward to a report. I now mostly ride my traditional bikes, and sometimes my CF Racer, but do miss my Roadster v2 that I sold. It was a great and reliable bike, but I limit myself to N=4 bikes 😁

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

Very enjoyable watch. All I need is better equipment, more aero position … and more training, and natural talent :)

    L’etape du Tour de France?

Thanks for the info! Something else to consider.

    Light ebike

Ha, I had the Roadster v2 with rim brakes, and they actually worked well. Having a lighter bike makes a big difference. And I actually did a lot of climbing including ridiculous hills with my Roadster v2 and got rid of some belly by the climbing out of the saddle. Before finally selling it (new...

    Light ebike

Before I got the extender battery for my Roadster v2, found it to be good for 20+ miles easily, if mainly using lower PAS. Looked up my ride history and my personal distance record with the Roadster v2 internal battery only was 65+ miles and 6000+ elevation gain, which included I’m guessing 40...

    L’etape du Tour de France?

It appears that they don’t allow e-bikes for this grand fondo, so posting in the off-topic section. Anyone do, or consider doing, the amateur grand fondo ride that does the same route as a stage of the Tour de France? Seems like a crazy idea, so I’m actually thinking about it 🤪...

    CF Racer1 Road Delivered Today

Since the display can show watts assist provided, it’s about 40 watts in level 1, 100 watts in level 2, 200 watts level 3.

    CF Racer1 Road Delivered Today

Based on your description, the CF Racer 1 seems like a great fit for you. I feel like it is like a really good road bike, where you have pedal assist when you need it. For me, it’s perfect for the 50+ mile club rides, where I can ride motor off OR dial in assist for the major climbs or fast pace...

*FINAL POST* for my Roadster v2, after 8000 miles

*FINAL POST* for my Roadster v2. It’s been retired and given to someone else. Was a great bike, and enjoyed it very much. Now have the CF Racer1, and though it has less power, it’s my go to bike, when I ride an e-bike. Both are highly recommended, and in some ways the best of their breed, at a...

    CF Racer1 Road Delivered Today

I thought I wasn’t going to like the drop bars, but it turns out I do like them. The position on top of the brake hoods is comfortable.

    Ride1Up factory tour.

Go for it! I gave into the temptation, and can’t be happier with my decision. CF Racer1 is light, smooth, fast and well designed. And price can’t be beat.

8+ months of research, 100s of hours, know what I need & want but can't find it

With your medical conditions and wants, you have to decide what you can compromise on. It’s like trying to find an iideal spouse 😆. Will never get all you “want” but hopefully you can find what works well enough. Suggest you look at the lighter weight gravel or even road biikes that allow very...

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

Beautiful bike, but that gearing has too much of a weight penalty, with the bike 25 pounds. Riding a traditional bike in the 16 pound or less range is such a different and more enjoyable experience than a much heavier bike IMO.

Could you recommed suitable bike for me?

You should buy brand X model Y for exactly USD2500 ;) If you provide a lot more information on your specific needs, biking experience, fitness … you might get a more specific and appropriate answers :)

    "Current-based" cadence-sensing from Ride1up

Can’t comment on the marketing speak, but all I can say is that my Ride1UP CF Racer1 implementation is really smooth and efficient. Feels a lot like my traditional road bike, and with different assist levels just feels like a tailwind of different levels. Can get a lot of range, riding with...

    $10,000.00?

I guess I’m another anomaly. 12000 miles with one $1200 e-bike, and then 7500 miles with an $1100 e-bike (that’s now down to $800 new), and have never felt that they were cheap or unreliable. That said, if I had a bigger garage and money available to burn without consideration of value, there...

    $10,000.00?

Actually, no issue for me with those that want to and have the money to spend $10k on a bike. Just think that those who do, but criticize those that spend less, might be snobs.

    $10,000.00?

+1 Some brand-snobs will criticize anyone buying a less expensive bike, but I think they are the ones that may be full of cr@p :) My recent and most expensive ever bike purchase is the Ride1UP CF Racer1 for $2300. Full carbon, ~ 28 lbs, Mostly Shimano/SRAM components, and rides beautifully. Is...
