There is a steady hum when the motor is engaged but it's not bad. The overall range is disappointing but I would still buy it again.

Is this what you are referring to? The top plug with 2 cables is labeled shift sensor and the barrel connector was very loose. I thought tightening would solve the problem but 2 minutes into a ride I again lost pedal assist and throttle. Leili is suggesting I disconnect the brakes and test it...

There is a small red switch on the charger (unlabeled). Use a small screwdriver to slide it over. It will switch you from 240V to 110V and the charger should work immediately. You'll hear a cooling fan and see the LED light turn on.
