Second time around...not the charm Vado 4.0

LATEST UPDATE: After careful consideration, Specialized has agreed to replace my bike with a brand-new one, which speaks to why I continue to choose brands like Specialized and Trek. Both companies consistently uphold their commitment to excellence and stand behind their products. While these...

Second time around...not the charm Vado 4.0

    Nope...they never did...but a follow-up is coming shortly.

Second time around...not the charm Vado 4.0

Update. Well, Specialized did replace the motor under warranty, which was great. Yet, after bringing the bike home, and riding for 5 consecutive days, a loud noise (sort of a clicking sound) can be heard after each pedal rotation. I have since returned the ebike, and have asked for a refund...

    2024 Prodigy V2 XR 1000 mile Review

My Review of the 2024 Ride1Up Prodigy V2 XR (Chain Version) After clocking 1000 miles on the V2, it's time for an update. Ride1Up has truly outdone themselves with this ebike. It’s robustly built, sports an excellent paint job, and features top-notch components. Powered by a Brose motor with...

Yes, sharp bike for sure, comfortable and fast...well built.

Review Ride1Up Prodigy V2 XR (chain version)

Greetings. The V2 has been great, and when I did have the rack, I ran standard Basil and Topeak bags with no problems. The rack is very sturdy, and panniers would not be a problem. I removed the front and rear racks because I just wanted a fun bike to ride single track on and explore. I also own...

    2023 Prodigy ST

My suggestion is to run Super Moto X tires (2.4's), Mr. Tuffy tire liners, and Slime inner tubes. I run this setup on all three of my e-bikes and I have had ZERO flats in over 12,000 miles of riding. Hope this helps....

Contemplating the Specialized Vado or the Vado SL?

    You are quite welcome....enjoy.

Contemplating the Specialized Vado or the Vado SL?

I have used to own the Vado SL 4.0 and your review is spot on. For me, the full power Vado 4 is the best deal going, and although I miss the light feeling of the SL, the full size Vado is quiet, smooth, and powerful. Fits my needs perfectly....easily gobbling up 50 to 60 mile treks at a time...

    Specialized Vado 4 or Ride1Up Prodigy V2

I do like my Prodigy V2 XR (chain) a lot. I purchased it after reviewing some YouTube videos that claimed 73 miles in Tour mode, which is roughly 95% of the total (380%). This was truly a great accomplishment for a 500w battery, as my former Giant Fastroad EX Pro could cover 50 miles at 100%...

    Specialized Vado 4 or Ride1Up Prodigy V2

I own both bikes, and a Trek 8s. Minus the current sale price with the Vado 4, I would choose the Prodigy over both the Trek 8s and the Vado 4.....but, since the Vado 4 is roughly $2750, it is the clear winner...and twice on Sundays. The Brose motor is quiet and smooth on both the Prodigy and...

    Disappointed after purchasing an e-bike?

Ditto and the silly rear rack on the 8s......not well thought out.

    Agreed 👍.

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

I think you will get used to it....it doesn't feel heavy in motion.....I used to own an Vado SL 4, and moved away from it because I needed more support on some really steep hills in my neighborhood.

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

Oh, I sweat plenty on my Vado 4, but I ride fast, and only in ECO...even on hills. That is the beauty of the Vado 4 and Mission Control...you can tune it like you want. For me, 35/35 (ECO) easily gets me 60 miles per ride, and arriving home with 32 to 34% battery left. Plenty of exercise and...

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

Ditto all of that. I have a Bosch gen 4, which is great for torque, but noisy. The Yamaha in my sold Giant Fast Road EX Pro, was quieter than the Bosch....but the Vado 4 is darn near silent.

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

I purchased my second Vado 4 at $3250, and that was a bargain. The current price of $2749 is an absolute STEAL, because this bike out of the box needs NOTHING. Happy riding....

    Removed fenders Prodigy V2

Thanks. Not sure about the stem and handlebar, but Ride1up is VERY responsive with inquiries...I mean lightening fast responses. My review of the bike is here: https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/review-ride1up-prodigy-v2-xr-chain-version.55131/ Thanks again...

    2023 Prodigy ST

Thank you for sharing your review of the ST. I own the Prodigy V2 (chain version) and have found it to be a fantastic bike. I also currently own a 2023 Vado 4 and 2023 Trek 8s, I can confidently say that the Prodigy V2 holds its own against these models. Personally, I prefer the Brose motor over...
