New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

Great feedback, thanks! Shifter is definitely week point being cable-driven :( This is main reason I still using my Kindernay - their shifter is state od the art. I would use electric one for 3x3, but it is not compatible with my older gen bosch motor...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Even if there are 5 of us, we are capable of doing this because there is not hard enforced limit of 15 mph. I see this as attempt to forbid us to bike to work and put me into public transit or even worse to the traffic on the road. I already shared by observation about me never seen erratic...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Valid point. For NY though in case of commuting the situation is better now - lots of companies offer some kind of bike storage and even showers. For running errands though the things are still bad - very unsafe to keep bike outside for any long time no matter what lock is in use. Oonee offers...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Even 1% of NYC commuters is large number. Do you have a link to source of this - very interested how they count it - I never seen any automatic riders couting systems around or in NYC. Also, distance is not a biggest issue - biggest issue is the Hudson River, which separates NYC from New...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

This is not enfoced in any way, so doesn't matter. After aome thiking, I can state: from my personal experience I never met class 3 ebike rider who was riding irresponsibly. Fast - yes, but irresponsibly - never. Most of troubles are from moped-style unrestricted ebikes, dirt ebikes, super...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

EU L1e-B is pretty much Class 3 is US, minus few things (I assume number plate holder, bell/horn, light and reflectors are mandatory for L1e-B). Otherwise these are samr bikes with samr motors.

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Exactly. You never saw road mamils going 40km/h to get those KOMs on $10k+ carbon bikes? Most of them never slowdown since it impact their Strava numbers, even it is safer to slow down.

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Sorry, but commute time matters. My current commute is 28 miles roundtrip and it is about 45-50 minutes one way with average speed 18-20 mph (class 3 pedal-assist ebike) Limiting the speed to 15mph will essentially move it 1h+ territory (+ time to park the bike, change closing, take shower) and...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

I would also add missing or insufficient infrastructure for micromobility. Simple example from my personal commute experience - lower Manhattan West Side: there is 7(!) lines stroad there for cars and just a basic ~6 feet bike lane there. It is good lane, no question, but it is not sufficient to...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Well, he can use police to abuse the laws. And it is being done right now: https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/05/05/nypds-red-light-criminalization-marks-obscene-escalation-advocates. Running red light in NYC can result in criminal summons at the moment. Even if it was when pedestrian signal was...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

This just negates the purpose of the ebikes for lots of us. Also, even if introduced, I am very doubtful this can be enforced in any way. Just another stupid idea of bribe-taker major.

    Delite and Homage 5

Are gen 4 bikes discounted in any way since the 5th gen is already available? I don't see the point to pay $10k+ for the previous gen. Also, even with 250W extra, it is just 1000Wh - I have same setup on my Gazelle right now - I was hoping for at least 1250Wh on the new bike. Looks like I need...

Ebikes in Africa where there's little electricity.

Little electricity, but lots of sun. So aolution is obvious - solar panel. If only leading world counries and their leads foxus on what is best for humanity, not on war, personal power, we would live in wonderdul world...

    Kindernay maintenance.

Just discovered this thread! Awesome work on disassembly and sharing all steps and photos - this is first full disassembly photos for Kindernay Hub I ever saw (may be the only available on Intetnet?). Design looks good, but all those uneven wear out issues is what differentiate the new...

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

I assume only their own brake rotors fit the setup? It in understandable, but kudos again to Kinderney, who was ableto keep standard rotors support in their VII model. How is the rotor overall? Which brakes setup do you use? I am using 2-piece Magura rotors with their MT5e brakes and 3x3 rotor...

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

I will most probably be close to 7k by end of this season - lets see if I am going to need to upgrade this year. I saw the sets with electronic shifter, great to see this option, but since I am on legacy Bosch platform it won't work. And I really don't want to go to rotary shifter and cable...

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

Sad news :( How many miles have you got on yours? Mine first did ~1800 miles before dying (was very early version) and 2nd is currently at ~5800 miles (late version). Leaking like hell, but works so far... P.S. Thanks for sharing your progress with 3x3 - it might be a future path for all of...

    Delite and Homage 5

Anyone knows why no SuperDelite5 with Pinion? Looks like artificial limitation to me... If to pay that much for an ebike it should be top notch from any angle!
