    Slack Pace

I bought a Pace 500 Friday! I am enjoying it. I have used it for a couple errands already around town. On flats PAS 5 with a light pedal has me about 31 MPH, sweet, sometimes scary. At that speed, the difference between driving and biking is pretty minimal, maybe a few minutes on a 6 mile...

Took Delivery of Aventon Level Today

Has anyone tried, or found it necessary, to "trim the fat" on the Level? 13 pound difference, on paper, between the Pace and the Level. I like the geometry of the Level more than the Pace, but I like a lighter weight bike. For example, I think those stock tires, if I found the right model...

    Slack Pace

Thanks! I should just go ride it again, maybe right now. I should drop my pre-conception of the seat angle and just see how it feels. It looks well put-together overall and I like to support the LBS.

    Slack Pace

Hi, I was able to test drive an Aventon Pace 500 locally. It is on the short list because, well, I am short, and it is one of the few budget ebikes for shortys with an actual top tube. It fit pretty well - I don't like the backsweep on the bars but that is easy enough to change. That saddle...

this $1500 electric bike ships right to your door

I think we are past that... I realize I hijacked this old thread. I was just wondering if others had more insight into this specific bike, since I don't find a lot of information out there on it. All the other bikes in the household are not electric. Whatever I get, would be the first...

this $1500 electric bike ships right to your door

Fair enough... yes those thoughts have crossed my mind. I think I am trying to go above and beyond justifying the cost of another bike in the household. I already own 4 myself, but I can only ride one at any given time.

    Brake and cut-off cable replacement

Biggest disadvantage to hydraulic brakes is the need to bleed. This is arguably more complicated than replacing cables and housing on mech brakes - I had the Avid bleeds down but still haven't figured out the Shimano bleed. I bleed at least once a year, either paying a shop or doing it myself...

this $1500 electric bike ships right to your door

Sweet ride! That is a big one. I should clarify - this will primarily be for a short commute, not too hilly, and hopefully some errand running around town. I have a few other bikes for the recreational aspect of cycling. I also hope my kids will borrow it on occasion to go back and forth to...

Contending with Wind and Climbs, What Works?

I too am on the Front Range. Howdy neighbor. The wind is actually the worst weather aspect of Colorado. I have bailed on my bike rides due to wind than any other seasonal challenge. This might be obvious so forgive me, but one option is to try swapping headset spacers to drop the height of...

this $1500 electric bike ships right to your door

One of the main reasons I am looking at this bike is, at my height 5'4", most internet options out there are step through only. At least for this "low step" model (talking the Charge City) the structural top tube is still there, albeit lower than usual. Bike is also relatively much lighter...

I did it again! Sport and Flow on order....

It should eventually disappear. That is a pretty common problem with suspension forks. The seals just need some breaking in. Don't be tempted to spray a lubricant in there as that will attract grit.

First electric bike, coming in 2 weeks.

What's up Jersey? I was born and raised in Middletown, NJ, I forget the exit # maybe 114? Made it out to Colorado by way of NC and college at Georgia Tech. I get back to NJ every so often to visit family, though it has been a while due to the pandemic. I love the food in NJ, can't find the...

Hello from Everywhere! Friends and Visits?

Hello from the Front Range of Colorado. I have been actively riding bikes for 20+ years, and I own 4: my original GT hardtail now turned into a commuter (nicknamed Frankenbike by a friend); steel hardtail and full suspension mountain bikes; and a carbon fiber road bike. I am primarily...

    I could wait no longer

Well it's all relative. If you are getting lots of miles it's worth it. I am at the n+1 point - I have 4 bikes and the ebike will hopefully get me out of the car more often, but I will still choose mountain biking on my full sus for fun.

    I could wait no longer

@Kivis are you still riding the Charge City? I am shopping budget and lightweight so it checks those boxes. I am also test driving a like new Propella 7 speed this weekend.

    Handlebars

Have you tried adjusting what you have? Pretty simple adjustments with the right allen wrench: - Try changing the angle at which the bars come at you. Loosen the bolts on the front of the stem, adjust angle, tighten. You might need to adjust the angle of the brake levers, shifter etc after...

Aventure Pedal Grounds Out On A Turn

Pedal strike will be affected by the geometry of the bike, namely the bottom bracket height. Measure from the ground up to the center of the BB. That is a number you can then take and compare against other designs. BB height is a trade-off. Higher and you have more clearance, lower and you...

    Commuter modifications?

If I buy a Propella, or any other ebike for that matter, I already plan on swapping out the front tire, for weight savings. If you do a little shopping, a 700x35 tire can go as low as 300 grams, and I think the stock tire is double that weight. That is over half a pound savings. I like the...

    Short riders on Propella

Hi, I am in the marginal spectrum for the Propella sizing, at 5'4", and my inseam is shorter than usual even at that height, 27.5". Anyone with real world experience on this end of the spectrum? I received some more numbers from customer service, and I think this bike is basically generally...
