    Como 3.0 IGH battery upgrade

I also agree with your recommendation to get a second battery cover, and for the same reasons: they are cheap and then you can swap the batteries in and out very quickly. I took this same approach when I acquired the 604wh battery for my 2019 Vado 3. I ordered a Storm Blue battery cover for...

    Turbo Tero 3.0, anyone?

My experience with my 2019 Vado 3 was that I could get about 35 miles of mostly-level riding with the setting in Eco with the 460wh battery. With the 530wh battery being about 15% larger I would guesstimate range in Eco to be at least 40 miles and perhaps even 50 miles. Of course this will...

    Electric Car thread

I considered taking the plunge and getting a Tesla 3 at the end of last year while the $7,500 tax credit was still in place. Even went for a test drive, and enjoyed it. However, when it came down to it I could not reconcile the cost with the limited range. My hope is that my next car will be...

    2018 Turbo Vado Bloks Help

We have a 2019 Vado 3 and a 2019 Como 2, both with the BLOKS. I knew the BLOKS had been replaced by the TCD, but because I bought my bikes after Specialized stopped offering the free TCD upgrades I figured I would just live with it. Then, about a year ago, I bought a brand new 2021 Como 4 from...

Battery Range Experience for Specialized E-Bikes

Hello, Stefan. As we have discussed several times over the last couple of years, I have been riding my 2019 Vado 3 and gradually building up my endurance over the last 2 plus years. My goal was to get to the point where I was able to do longer rides (at least 20 miles) and I have reached that...

Lock combo for Turbo Vado 4

You definitely want to wrap the chain around the bike stand or whatever permanent item you are locking the bike to. Once you have done that the front tire and/or the frame would be a bonus.

Lock combo for Turbo Vado 4

I have a 2019 Vado 3.0 and I use an ABUS frame lock, with the additional security chain, and an ABUS folding lock with an alarm. I live in a small town in California's Central Valley and rarely leave the bike anywhere and I am not in a high-risk area, but I could never replace my bike so the...

And, so it begins, price cuts, inventory, the next phase?

Wow! Those are great prices! I would have jumped on the Como 4.0 if it was a Small. I live in a very small town out here in California's Central Valley so I don't have much opportunity to see what is going on in any of the urban centers around me (SF Bay Area, Monterey, Sacramento). I will...

Is it possible to get parts for the 2016 Specialized Turbo S?

Once in a while some parts for the Turbo S pop up on e-Bay, but it is rare and I would not consider it a viable source for parts. That is about the only advice I can give you, although there may be somebody, somewhere, who knows where you might find some parts. In my opinion, anything you...

    First Five Rides + a Fall - Turbo Turbo Tero 6.0 X

About a year and a half ago I was doing some slow-speed gravel riding. The gravel was a couple inches deep and my front wheel washed out as I tried to negotiate a rut, and I went straight to the ground. Thankfully, because I was going very slow I didn't grind along the ground. I landed on my...

2022 Vado - Flat tire while on kickstand

Yep. Same thing happened to me a couple months after I got my Vado 3.0. The rear tire went flat overnight and when I came down the the next morning, my bike was laying on its side. It took me a moment to figure out what had happened and at first I blamed the cat. However, I soon realized...

    Another Turbo Vado Ergonomics Thread

Welcome! My two cents is that you might consider the Hollywood Destination E hitch rack. It is similar to the Thule e-bike rack, but it comes with a nicely sized ramp included so it is about $300 cheaper than the Thule with the extra longer ramp. I am still working but my wife is retired and...

    Buying/Configuring a Vado

I don't have any experience with the Carmel store but I always make it a point to stop by Work Horse Bikes when I am in Monterey. It is downtown so parking can be a challenge, but they always have a good selection of inventory available and the staff seems to know their stuff, so I recommend...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

I have been following this thread with interest, although just as an observer, at least up until now. I have a 2019 Vado 3.0, which is the equivalent of today's 4.0, with the exception being that mine came with the smaller 460wh battery. Most of my rides are less than 10 miles, but I enjoy...

    Firmware update for charging limit

I have only contacted Specialized twice over the last two years, and both of my questions were about parts compatibility between generations, not any problems per se. In both cases it took about a week, perhaps a little more, to receive an answer, but I did get complete answers both times...

Turbo Vado 4.0 questions: range and reliability

My two cents is that you could expect up to 30 miles, but that is just a guess based upon the information you have provided and my own experience with my 2019 Vado 3.0, which is the equivalent of the 2020 and 2021 Vado 4.0. Also, I agree that riding in Turbo all of the time is not advisable and...

ABUS frame locks for Vado/Como have arrived (and they fit/work!)

Have you tried Propel in New York or Long Beach? I ordered mine through Propel and it was an easy process with everything delivered in about 4 weeks. This was back in the summer of 2021 so it may be a quicker turnaround now. I recommend reaching out to Propel if you have not yet done so.

ABUS frame locks for Vado/Como have arrived (and they fit/work!)

Yes, it is compatible with an accessory chain. When I ordered my frame lock from ABUS I also got the accessory chain and an alarmed folding lock with both locks keyed to the same code as my battery lock. This way I only need to carry one key and it works for all three of my locks. I find the...
