2020 Juggernaut Ultra FS Rear Hub quality

All of these hubs mentioned seem to be light years ahead of the garbage supplied rear hub. Hopefully Roshan has solved this thorn in the side on an otherwise homerun bike. Good luck to all.👍👍

2020 Juggernaut Ultra FS Rear Hub quality

Go with a DT Swiss Star Ratchet. It's 18 (or 36 or 54, depending on your preference} points of contact have solved my Ultra hub failure issues. good luck!👍

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Hey MXER, Great!! Good luck with the new setup. Let us know what you find on the "Current" vs "Speed" choice. Also I myself really enjoying the new "smooth" settings, I'm curious if you tried or plan on trying. 👊

Anybody swap out their chainring for a smaller one for better climbing?

Sorry, "h" button broken....... hmmmm it seems to be working now. HA!

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Ha!, Sorry Al, but the entire point may have been missed. I don't use "speed" mode because it does cut off PAS assist when it engages, I use "current" mode and everything is fine. From day one, 2 years ago, It's always been that way on my Hardtail Ultra and my FS ultra with a DPC18 display and...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

    - just to be clearer, only pedal-assist dies, the throttle becomes master controller and any and all assist comes through the throttle - The wattage readout shows exactly what I'm describing and the moment the throttle engages, the momentum of the bike dies down to the throttles level of...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Sorry I'm not being clear. Speed mode = Soon as the throttle makes its connection to start engaging the least amount of assist, all pedal assist dies instantly. Any assist that's currently on for your chosen assist level, 25%, 50%, 75% whatever, turns off.

Anybody swap out their chainring for a smaller one for better climbing?

Ha!, sorry I should not have assumed. see link: https://electricbike-blog.com/2019/09/02/christini-bcd-104-ultra-max-adapter-unleashes-the-torque-monster-on-your-trail-snow-ebike/ It lets you take a Bafang Ultra motor front chainring down as small as 30T or so. Usually 38t-40t is the smallest...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Hey Al, Just so I am being clear, It's current vs speed mode, not pwr vs speed mode. DPC18 in "Speed" mode, soon as I engage the throttle, any assistance disengages completely. In "Current" mode, the assistance is not effected and the throttle just adds its assistance to any existing...

Bafang Ultra - Display Screen Questions

I compared the DPC18 calorie counter to my wife riding with her iWatch many times and its surprising how close it comes. Usually within 10%. It's a nice challenge for to push me to use less asisst.

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Gionnirocket, We all ride differently. Obviously, our bikes and setups are not the same. I don't use the throttle to ride any distance, its for a quick up an incline, up a rock step, through a snowbank or mud puddle. Other than a pedal strike situation, Why would I "STOP PEDALING"???. If I...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

PAS power dropping out with the engagement of the throttle is just rotten in my book, that is a setting that drives me nuts. I guess the Ultra is a different animal than the BBS02B??? - In my set up, If you set the throttle to "by displays command", the throttle will only give power up to the...

2020 Juggernaut Ultra FS Rear Hub quality

Hey Greeno, So how is your Ultra FS?? I blew out two hubs in 45 days back in Feb. 2020 on my original Non-FS Ultra, I was not a happy camper, but.... Roshan made good on their product. Once I upgraded to the DT swiss BR2250 all has been perfect in Ultra bike freewheel land for me. So good that I...

my juggernaut ultra FS struggles (LBS CAUSED 99%)

Had the same issue 30 days into my first Biktrix Ultra, hub #2 only lasted a single hill. In my opinion, the supplied rear freewheel was not up to the task. The minimal palws just sheared off. I always stayed in first gear up the steep stuff and always shifted down before the hill. No question...

Anybody swap out their chainring for a smaller one for better climbing?

Hey Ras, The front chainring is a must if you don't need top speed. Did the 38t fit without the cristini? I found an 11-46 rear with a 40T front is a great compromise for great power and more speed than I need. My main reason for not putting the cristini on the Ultra FS is the chain hits my...

    Dp.c18 LCD Display an m620

Yes, Grenno is right, forget the 36v and buy a 52v battery. Running my Ultra on 48v for a year was great, but the bike was superior in every way when I got the 52v battery. I get 20%+ in ride time and the bike has more get up and go.

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

I know, very weird, it threw me first time I ran into it and the online descriptions of these modes are so confusing. Everyone descibes what the modes do differently. My DPC18 In "Speed" mode, soon as I engage the throttle, even a little, the assistance in the chosen PAS setting, disengages...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

Thanks Al, I appreciate all your insight and helpful impressions. I'm really glad I came across this forum. To answer you, "ECO" is my go to 99% of the time. The ultra is such a powerful tool to have fun and get exercise in the awesome ebike world. BTW: I'm trying "smooth" today, looking...

Bafang Ultra "Smooth" tune by Mike at Frey

FYI: You have mentioned multiple times that "...for 5 levels of PAS they use 1,3,5,7, and 9 as shown on the 1st page." This is not the case for all bikes and displays. My DPC-18 on my Biktrix Ultra FS reads 0,2,4,6,8,9 for the 5 PAS set up. Also current and speed modes on the throttle page are...

Talk me in or talk me out of this bike .

The Eunorau has no torque-sensing, its like a step backward. If you buy a mid-drive ultra-motor bike and add surly Bud/Lou tires it will have better traction and a better ride. I'd never go back to cadence sensing and the 4" tires can't compete with true FAT 4.8"+. In snow, in sand, over roots...
