You were right it was Class 3, I called them again today but someone had already purchased it, hopefully someone in this group!

My local REI gave the Lynwood store a call to talk to their bike tech yesterday about the XL they have when I mentioned it might be an option, they confirmed it’s also cutting out at 20mph and that’s why it was returned.

In the same boat with REI right now, that's helpful to know the Neo 2 they have in stock is also Class 1. I was considering just returning the 3 and ordering the 2 but sounds like that won't do me any good.
