    700 rack and Topeak bags?

I saw the same issue and got the Velcro version but that had too-short mounting straps too. I used to think that Topeak made quality stuff but I see now they have made some puzzling engineering decisions that lead me to question that... I ended up getting the Rockbros 'copy' and am very happy...

    700 rack and Topeak bags?

If you have a marine store nearby look at making longer arms with black plastic 'Starboard' which is very tough and can be cut and drilled like wood. The sheets are quite expensive but you may find offcuts for next to nothing.

Review: Topeak DXP trunkbag vs Rockbros lookalike on 700 rack

It is true that bags are targets for thieves ( homeless mostly) but even more so for the easy to remove QT! But if you are ok with always removing the bag wherever you park then it is the best choice. If not consider getting a Hiplok to make it hard for a lowlife to grab it and run. Velcro...

Review: Topeak DXP trunkbag vs Rockbros lookalike on 700 rack

Certainly if you are a commuter and take the bag off every day then QT is the way to go. For my cruiser, the bag will only come off when I wash the bike or if it gets really wet so the extra 60 seconds it takes to remove/replace is not much of an issue for me. On my QT bag I used a Hiplok steel...

Review: Topeak DXP trunkbag vs Rockbros lookalike on 700 rack

These two bags look almost identical and are both priced the same but after purchasing the Topeak I am returning it and got the Rockbros – here is why: I originally got the Topeak Velcro version of the folding pannier bag for my 700ST because I had used and liked the QuickTrack version on...

New Bike with that gurgling brake noise.

Thanks - excellent videos by Park. The mere existence of the DT 5.2 tool says a lot... I am a retired Engineer so I actually enjoy solving problems like this. I will update the thread with any findings.

New Bike with that gurgling brake noise.

Yes I have payed attention to break-in but this is not traditional squealing. Here is a video from someone else with the same horrible noise. I think the pads are not pressing flat against the disk and are twisting it and catching in the rain slots. Organic pads are softer and may just hide...

New Bike with that gurgling brake noise.

I have tried centering the caliper using line of sight and the tighten while brake is applied methods. I have checked disk for sharp edges and inspected & sanded the pads with no change. The core issue remains: Applying the brake is pushing the disk to one side - something that is possible with...

New Bike with that gurgling brake noise.

My new Ride1Up 700 has that weird brake noise on my rear wheel - often described as gurgling or underwater or toilet flushing. Several threads here and elsewhere about the issue with some reporting success changing the pad material - but not really explaining why only some bikes have the issue...

Cheap alarm that gives more warning

My ideal workflow would be three warnings per 60 seconds - 1st one beeps once, 2nd one beeps twice, 3rd one beeps 3 times, 4th jog sets off alarm for 2 minutes ( 30 seconds is just too short). I don't see any way for a thief to defeat any reasonably good lock or the alarm without 4 jogs of the...

Cheap alarm that gives more warning

That's my problem - I want to have an alarm to deter thieves but don't want it going off at my local grocery store because someone has chained up on the same pole as me. That leaves me deciding whether to deactivate the alarm or risk being a jerk. Two or three warnings prior to Alarm should...

Cheap alarm that gives more warning

Looking for a cheap alarm that gives more than one warning chirp so the next person in a full bike rack does not have to suffer my alarm going off when they unlock their bike. Ones like the pic below are all over Amazon but they all seem to offer only one warning chirp and then 30 seconds of...

    Electric bike battery care

Interesting thread. Having just got a new white box bike ( Ride1Up 700) , I do want to maintain my new battery - don't charge it hot, maintain at 70-80% and minimize time at 100%. But I know that I will soon forget about it. So, I have built some smart home routines to keep it simple I use...

    700 rack and Topeak bags?

Nicely done! My bike is supposed to arrive at the end of this week and will start planning my setup then.

    700 rack and Topeak bags?

The adapter is made of plastic vs the metal tracks on the racks - which are probably better. How did you attach the plate to the rack?

Ride1Up 700 Series Chain Falling Off Front Chain Ring

As someone awaiting for delivery of my new 700, I would like to know what the chainring offset from BB should be. A recent poster on the FB group worried that their crank was not sitting very far onto shaft during install. Of course that could be a simple matter of not torqueing it down all the...

Bike powered Flashing lights - do they exist?

My 700 does not have a USB port but even if it did I would worry about water getting in the USB plug at the rear light. I may just try to mount an additional battery light with 5+ hrs of runtime under the mounted light to get by until a true replacement becomes available.

Bike powered Flashing lights - do they exist?

Your light and Light & Motion are low voltage only ( 6 - 18V) but the Juiced light looks like what I need! Thanks

Bike powered Flashing lights - do they exist?

I did look over the Lezyne site per your suggestion but did not find any 48v lights at all! I would love to be wrong so please point me to a model or link. The spec I referred to is an EU rule that does not allow flashing lights as part of a bike. Add on battery powered lights are not covered...

Bike powered Flashing lights - do they exist?

Lezyne only sell European spec lights 6-12V and flashing on attached lights is not allowed in Europe. Grin Tech's only rear light spec says "No on/off switch or blink mode, just steady red when power is present." The rear light is my concern - making sure passing cars notice me.
