    specialized creo 2

I'm using Tailfin's frame mounts that thread directly into the frame and then connecting with the quick releases on the rack. That puts the mounting point up a little higher than the thru axle, which I found preferable. My other two bikes are using QR axles, which makes swapping simple. I also...

    specialized creo 2

I'm sure I'll ride it some for recreation, too, especially on rougher surfaces like the C&O Canal towpath. It seems well suited to that. For smoother surface rides, I'll mainly stick with my road bike, which I very much enjoy riding. Here's a fun fact: my average speed on both the Creo and my...

    specialized creo 2

I picked up a new Creo 2 Comp recently to use as a several-day-a-week commuter bike. I have two routes I can use from home to work and back. One is 16 miles each way, and the other is 23.5 miles each way but a nicer ride. When I searched for this bike in my size, Specialized only showed two...

    General Creo questions

I believe there is a huge difference between well-made carbon fiber and cheaper carbon fiber where the manufacturer is more likely to skimp on the resin or be less meticulous in its application. And fiddly bits like saddle rails seem more likely to break than larger structural ones. Personally...

Importance of buying from a local bike shop

I don't know how any bike shop can be profitable long-term without at least acceptable customer service. I've heard from local owners that most of the margin on new bike sales gets eaten up (in normal times) by expenses related to storage, assembly and sales. That a big reason why new bikes...

    Big Specialized price increase

Specialized exec says that we shouldn't expect inventory to return to pre-pandemic levels for at least another year. Sounds like higher prices aren't going anywhere soon...

    Cannot believe the price increase

I've got the original Tailfin rack, which I use for bike commuting. I like it a lot. For me, the nice thing is I can swap it back and forth between my gravel bike and my road bike with little time and effort, and I can painlessly remove it entirely when not needed.

    Cannot believe the price increase

Totally agree. The primary audience for that bike (the U.S. 28 mph version at least) is already fit cyclists who want to rider further, faster or both. It definitely would be a good choice for many over 60 riders, but I'm think of the type of experienced riders who have done fast paced group...

    Cannot believe the price increase

To each his own. I wouldn't want much if any suspension in a gravel/road bike. And if I looked at a major manufacturer's e-road bike that had a full carbon frame and fork with carbon wheels and Di2 shifting that also had their best motor and battery, I'd wonder where they were cutting corners if...

    Creo SL sizing help needed.

One other thought. If you use the Specialized website to find shops with Creos in stock near you ("near" being a relative term), try looking at availability for each of the models. The frame geometry is the same between them all, so if you're testing just for fit, any you find should be okay...

    Creo SL sizing help needed.

I'm 6'0" with your same inseam and sleeve length. I have a 56cm road bike (custom built, so fit is spot on) and 55cm gravel bike that's close enough. In test riding the Creo, the large was definitely the right size for me.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

You can do a quick search to confirm, but I don't think the SRAM PowerLock chain links are intended to be reusable. From what I've read, they only positively engage on initial installation and will deform if you try to reuse them providing the potential for failure when riding.

Rode the Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp

Don't let the side of the road with a flat be the first time you try this. I'd suggest removing both wheels, taking the tires off and putting them back on. I suspect you'll find getting the wheels on and off will be easier than the tires.

Rode the Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp

Same here. I've been keeping an eye out for an update to the Comp Carbon that hopefully includes some of the changes seen in the 2021 Expert: road remote, chain keeper, 30mm tires, Kush bar tape (happens to be what I use on my bikes) and new colors. I, too, don't like any of the current Comp...

    Specialized - Spec'd Chain Lube?

NFS is the best chain lube I've used. Takes very little and keeps the drivetrain nice and quiet. Before this, my fave was Rock and Roll Gold Lube. http://nixfrixshun.com/nixfrixshun-ultimate-bicycle-chainlube/

    2021 Creo Road Remote?

Agree. I feel like the whole point of having the buttons is so you can change settings without taking your hands off the bars while moving at speed. I don't see how changing settings on a bike computer would be preferable to changing those settings on the TCU unit itself. And if you have to...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

The Creo is a fairly high end road bike with an added assist motor, while the Vado SL is more of a town bike with an assist motor. The frame materials are different; the geometries are different; the forks are different; the components are different; and most importantly, how they are designed...
