What's You're Plan For Major Breakdown?

Added towing to my insurance (about $5 more a year).

Wear a helmet and discard the broken and probably old ones

May want to check out a new iPhone 14 - it is releasing a satellite system in November (US) that will allow a text message to emergency services even without a cell signal.

Thank you - I figured many people were taking their small dogs, and am interested in everyone's ideas.

Bike front rack for COMO (for a dog)

We are looking around for a bike rack and bag so my wife can transport our little dog (3-4 lbs). She has a Como and I was thinking of a hard metal rack that we can strap a dog bag/box) thing to. I saw several on Amazon, but some don't look like they attach the best so I figured a metal rack...

    Open Letter to Specialized

Hopefully, that gets this worked out for you, and you can get your bike. I would first just send it to Specialised and see what happens. Good luck and hope you get your bike soon!

    1UP single bike rack

Yes- it works. Done it with a Como and a Vado both without issues. Metal fenders are very easy as they don't even flex.

Cell battery technology set to jump again-driven by another industry

I have to disagree there. I am a homeowner and this Pic below - saw had a 20" bar) was the last tree that came down and I had to cut it up. I have yet to see an electric chainsaw that would have "cut it" (no pun intended, well, ok, may it was). I think that most city or subdivision people...

Cell battery technology set to jump again-driven by another industry

Yep, this will be interesting. Cant wait to see the bank of batterys I will need to replace my 22K generator I have run for over a week straight (several times) when the power goes down at our rural house in the dead of winter. Big ideas but we are FAR away from reality. It seems so many...

    Specialized Turbo Vado 5

I had a Vado for about a year (sold it to go to a Gravel bike) but it was not because it was anything less than great. They have plenty of power and good battery life. Never had an issue with the bike and if I could have afforded to keep it and get my new bike would have.

Any idea where I might find a 2022 Spec Turbo Vado in M , white (pref) ? And some ebike questions Allant 8 plus S and Turbo Vado 5.0.

I had a Vado 4.0 in a medium I recently sold (great bike by the way) but I'm only 5'4 and 140ish (28 inseam) and it fit very comfortably so you may want to try a med and a large to see which is best for you.

Anyone add a suspension fork on Como?

What is funny is the Como in the US (for 2021) now has the Suntour Suspension fork but Specialized doesn't seem to have any and Suntour told me they don't make anything with a long enough steering tube????

Anyone add a suspension fork on Como?

Bringing back an older thread..... The problem I am finding is the head tube length on the Como is excessively long and the steering tube on a LOT of shocks are too short from the factory from the Med/Large Como.

Is that new electric bicycle your looking at legal?

Agreed, by not based on top vehicle speed. Let's face it, I don't think there is any vehicle currently available that is not capable of breaking the speed limit on 99% of the roads in the US.

Is that new electric bicycle your looking at legal?

The whole class system is sort of silly in my view. I rode a bike trail yesterday with my wife and we both were on class 3 bikes, Average speed 11.2, top speed 22 (VERY steep short downhill section of road to get to trail). Did the class matter at all? Nope. Just have a speed limit and be...

    Como front suspension

We ride gravel roads a lot and some of the "bike trails" we ride are rough due to roots lifting the asphalt or the dirt below the trails heaving and causing 3"-4" peeks ( think asphalt in this shape ^ ) so the fork take the impact out where the tire just doesn't have that much to give. If you...

    Como front suspension

Thanks - it looks fairly simple, just need to get the shock but want to make sure I get the geometry correct.

    Como front suspension

Has anyone added a front suspension fork to a Como? I was looking to add a fork to the wife's bike just for gravel roads and such so nothing fancy. Any suggestions on what I need or should look for? I was considering the Suntour that is on some of the models from the factory since it is very...

    Cannondale Topstone Gravel Ebike

Lol - I understand. I am one of the weird ones that like the look (and function of course). For some reason, the engineering draws me to the one-legged fork look. Around us, I have not noticed one Lefty when riding last year. I think the cost turns a lot of people off which is...
