Hi, I have a pair of Ergon GP3 small grips, still new. I ended up with them because I needed to cannabalize a pair of GP5's to get the bar ends. Prefer local if anyone in Central Arkansas wants them, but can mail them if it comes to that.

I was riding in downtown Philly when my phone went flying from a bump in the road. I don’t know if that says more about philly streets than Bosch’s design but I can’t use the mount to hold my $1k phone. They really need to recall it.

My local Trek store is working on a warranty replacement for the mount on my Allant. In the meantime I incidentally installed a suspension stem, so I guess I'll see if that take some of the shock off this unfortunate design.

Unrelated but related - I've noticed when I charge my 8S to 100%, the moment I unplug it, the computer reads the battery at 98%, sometimes 97%. Not sure why this is happening and would like to also know if there is a way to know the charge cycles on a battery. Mine is only 7 weeks old.

Mine broke on the top after about a month. I’d like to replace it with one of the computers. This mount is Mickey Mouse. Don’t know if Trek will do it though.

True but one could always change the tires and the fork. I favor that blue color over the red but at the end of the day it’s a bike. I’d be tempted to return my 8S and order the 9 but I hate being inconvenienced. Maybe I’m just getting old.

OP? That’s a nice looking bike. I did consider returning my 8S and getting the 9.9 but I wasn’t sure of the extra cost for little weight loss but great aesthetics. I was lucky to get it 5% off and no sales tax already. I get compliments on the red 8S but man I wish it came in that dark blue.

I have the 8 and I'm not a fan of the "rack". Is it practical to get one I like and mount it in its place? I'm concerned about where it anchors to the fender and what complications I might expect with that.

Hey Dallant, I had the firmware updates on the motor and battery. I can say that the update made a noticable increase in torque from the stop. It's much quicker getting up to speed. For some reason, they forgot to update the computer's firmware to the latest but I don't know what that update...
