Strength of Turbo Vado 4.0 Rear Rack?

Thanks, RTeremi, for your response -- which answers my question. The prospective load on our prospective bike is a 26-27 lb dog. So I am reasured.

Strength of Turbo Vado 4.0 Rear Rack?

My wife thinks the rack on the Specialized Tubo Vado 4.0 looks too flimsy to support the 44 lbs it's rated for. Anybody with experience here? Thanks.

    eBike Robberies and security Problems

For many of us, the list of features & specs is the most useful part of any review (including EBR reviews). Would the customer desire for security devices be more evident to manufacturers/dealers if SECURITY was a component in these lists in the same way that GRIPS and SADDLE are.? Removable...

Should you charge your brand-new battery to 80% or 100%

You take the battery out of your brand new bike for its first charge. Do you start it off right by charging to 80%, or do you go to 100% to get the cells into balance more quickly (and will charging fully get the cells of a new battery into balance more quickly)? If this sounds like an...

Why is it rare for an e-bike to have more than one chain-ring?

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. I've learned a lot. As a serious analog road rider, I've been all about steady cadence -- and plan to be that way as I start using an ebike for the local travels I used to do by car in exurban New England. I can see why most ebike riders are using...

Why is it rare for an e-bike to have more than one chain-ring?

Thanks for all the responses. For me, the most interesting point was one I hadn't thought of, but should have: potentially disastrous consequences of cross-chaining. Even without the help of electrical horses, cross-chaining can damage the drive train on an acoustic bike. Thanks, Smorgasbord

Why is it rare for an e-bike to have more than one chain-ring?

Because you don't need so many gears when you have electric assist? (And has anyone ever thought that they could use a wider range of gears or smaller steps between gears on their e-bike?) Because another chain ring gets in the way more on an e-bike than an acoustic bike? Other stuff I haven't...

    A new Review Category for Step-Thru, Low-Step, Mid-Step bikes?

I think a category like this would help a lot of folks -- old riders (and those who think they might be old some day), riders with injuries, riders who anticipate carrying big things (e.g., kid, dog, milk crate) on the rear rack. It would also be helpful to see on the video reviews how...

If your dog weighs no more than 26 lbs, and your bike frame isn't too small, Buddyrider might work out for you. https://www.buddyrider.ca/
