    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I say it as one who is color blind! (but I'm not so numb as to miss the friendly side of the banter)

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

Yes Phyz. Try your old Crossroads saddle - hope it works. BTW - my old Crossroads saddle is medium wide, gel packed and has springs. It rides on a compression spring post that was stock with the old bike. That old post weighs almost 2 times what the new Vado post weighs so I put the old saddle...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I am not familiar with The Cup so cannot say. I believe my old Specialized gel pad spring saddle is a pretty common design. It looks just like this one but has Specialized Logo - upon close inspection I think they are exactly the same. Look here...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

MAPC - glad your Vado is just right for you. I am 390 miles in on mine (a 2020 3.0) and share your feelings. But about the saddle - the stock saddles on the USA Vado models are the same I believe. I found mine a bit hard and painful (I do wear proper biking undershorts) but I stuck with it to...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

MAPC - My usual ride is 13 country back road miles and it has a couple of very steep hills. Turbo and low gear gets me up them with no problems albeit slow. On medium hills Turbo and gear 4 or 5 I shoot right up at 8 to 12 mph. Mine is a 2020 Vado 3.0 and now that I've passed 250 miles I am...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

With my good sense of the obvious I figured you were an architect. I am not an architect but am an admirer of your trade. I have rebuilt 5 houses of the 18th century and as best I could and keeping within code(s) made them as close to original as possible. On the other hand I love the Bauhaus...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

GROPIUS - great name. Old Walter built that wonderful house in Lincoln what? 80 years ago?? These Vado's (design wise) are somewhat in harmony with the Bauhaus movement aren't they? Purposeful, clean, uncluttered and expensive. Congrats on your Gropius MAPC and if you learn when Spring will...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

MAPC - sounds like you live near us - nice now but rain through to Saturday. I am heading out in a few minutes also. I read a lot here about many mods people are making to their Vados. I find that my 2020 V 3.0 is set up just right for this average strength 5'8" 200 lb 74 year old male. My...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I am a 74 year old male- 5' 8", 200 lbs , have lead an active life and have always enjoyed a little biking (acoustic - maybe 40 miles a week). I am not a biking expert - just 10 to 15 mile exercise rides. At 70 my thigh strength began to wane as did my wife's. We bought a pair of Rad Mini...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Eheller - I was ditto your situation re. being pretty much a novice . Wife and I do have a few years on Rad Mini Fold Up's with rear hub motors. (we are birders and the Rads are perfect for putting in back of our Subaru Outback and riding some quite rough terrain and sand when we "get there" -...

    2020 Turbo Vado 3.0

Here bloody here! If you are not working with a good LBS find one. They are more important than the brands they sell. I am just lucky to have a checked out Specialized shop near by.

    2020 Turbo Vado 3.0

Right Stefan. Common inseam is length from ankle comfortably to crotch. From ankle to bottom (or heel) of your boots / sneakers / flip flops or whatever … is to be added for total standover height for that day's foot garb. The possible variations speak another reason for the step through frames.

    2020 Turbo Vado 3.0

Go for the 2020 Vado 3 with standard battery if you do 1 to 2 hour fitness rides. At $2700 US Firm the value is there and so is the comfort. I get three 12 mile hilly rides before I recharge - and I could get more but I try to keep battery near 50% as suggested by folks smarter than I. Your size...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I went through same quandary. Wife and I are in our 70's. Long time bike riders - road and MB. Athletic people and lucky for good health. Because of my age (74) I thought the Como might be best because of upright cruiser type comfort. But my LBD said because I am a long time acoustic rider I'd...
