I just wen trough the process and settled on the Giant Fathom E+, because I can take it to commute, offroad, local service and the price was the best. Why are you 'against' the brand specific stores?

Will definitely do! Can hardly wait the full week. Honestly, without this forum I would have not known about Giant (the dealer is 30 minutes away vs a couple LBS in 15 minutes). It has been incredibly helpful.

I did ride it, but I wouldn't be able to take it on my local trail. Commuting would be 30% of use, playing on trails the other 70%, which is why I am leaning towards the HT.
