    replacement batteries

I think what you wrote is common knowledge. How do you look for such batteries? Typing AAA battery gives me the wrong type. Typing prodigy battery gives me nothing.

    replacement batteries

I saw someone posting on FB about Core5 compatible batteries sold on Alibaba for 50% less than original R1U batteries. No details were provided. Is this true? Is is possible to purchase cheap batteries to other R1U bikes on Alibaba? I wasnt able to find any.

    loving my Prodigy

this is fascinating. I enjoy my prodigy XC but it is the most unbalanced bike I have ever ridden. I cannot ride it even for a second with no hands. I even emailed ride1up about it but they have no helpful response.

    Prodigy XC

thanks, good point on the pressure! Is your battery holding up OK so far? What about the paint / finish? I remember reading that R1U bikes tend to have poor quality paint.

    Prodigy XC

Anyone with the XC willing to post a review? I am curious how these tires perform on a paved road. Also, what the PAS1 range is. I would use it mostly for commuting but want the XC as occasionally I would hit forest service roads. I would add splash guards and a rack. thanks! greg

looking for quality commute / light off-road / dirt bike

you all gave me two good options. Ryze and the Juggernaut. I just noticed the Juggernaut can be sold with much more civil (more narrower) tires as well. Very good.

what about Surface shred? is this a good deal? I know the owner of this website believes it is, but it is so hard to find really unbiased opinions.

looking for quality commute / light off-road / dirt bike

some good ideas here but all are really heavy. I am currently on a 22lbs gravel bike... When I see 70lbs+ that really puts me off. Anything that is more reasonable and not a tank? I will be mostly community, very definitely dont need fat tires. I dont need tons of power - I used to ride in...

looking for quality commute / light off-road / dirt bike

We live in a hilly area with lots of forest service roads in the mountains. Looking for a bike that will give years of good service with replacement parts available. I can maintain it myself no problem. A bike that "feels" good, so from my brief readings probably torque sensing. Up to about...

    Just got a Shred

Hope you all dont mind reviving this old but very informative thread. I am looking into buying a bike (or two) and the Shred seems to be checking all the boxes. Are there any updates on Surface 604 as a company and their longevity? I understand they had gone thru some difficult times and...
