Hi. My ebike has a no name inverted fork with the valve for air located at the bottom of one of the legs. There also seems to be fluid in the hollow of the leg as well. First time while attempting to add air, I noticed a small bit of fluid had escaped. The bike was not completely flipped over...

Just don't end up being "dead right".

You didn't say whether, you used your throttle. I'm assuming that you didn't, since your mostly PAS 1.

You might like to check out our site- "friends of Confederation Trail" on Facebook and you will see a problem like you described. The posters obviously don't know much about e-bikes but quite likely the authorities will be keeping an "eye out" for e-bikes in this area of the trail. Might not of...

Hi Mr. Thompson. we just had very similar laws implemented here in PEI this spring. The 500 W limit seems to be for bike paths and trails similar to the Confederation Trail. Have not heard of any one being charged as yet. The 500W is not realistic for the people who are using e-bikes ( seniors...

Not sure which part of Canada that you are referring to. As near as I can tell, we are just as screwed up, up here, as you folks are down there. Up here, our "magic number" for bike trails seems to be 500 W. Think that you folks are at least 750 W.

Thanks Ravi, That event would be of interest to me for sure. Better yet, if some PEI government officials could be enticed to attend, would be great as IMO, they need a lot of catching up to do to get "up to speed" in this area.

Agreed, no matter what age, getting on a bike usually brings back pleasant memories, and brings back the kid in us. So much the better, if its an e-bike with torque assist and probably no throttle. All of a sudden, I have bionic legs. What could be better than that. Bring on the the head winds...

Good on the government there in NS. Lets hope that the newly elected government of next Tuesday will continue with this incentive. Given what is happening here in PEI, I'm not sure where we stand re;- e-bikes, any more. Oh yes, they say anything less than 500w is welcome on the bike lanes...

I was thinking much the same. shouldn't regular bikes be exempt as well. In the hands of younger fit people they a re a great way to get from A to B and with a lot less pollution, and that's the the " name of the game right now" isn't it.

Just noticed, BC is eliminating sales tax on e-bikes. "well done" BC !

Just stumbled on this thread this morning. PEI does not offer any rebate that I know of, in fact, the government here just passed a law limiting e-bike power to a maximum of 500w for trails and bike paths; a very backward step IMO. Their limit of 32km/h again IMO, is a good move. It's early...

Thanks for the reply. I have read this entire thread with great interest. Lots of information and ideas on charging and balancing batteries and cells here. Presently, I believe that I may have slight problem with my 21ah, 48v. battery. Have about 500 miles on the bike and never since day one...
