Perhaps your lowest non-zero pedal assist level is too high for your particular drive train. I'd think chain slack would not matter, since the drive tension is on the non-slack part of the chain.

I am not saying that everyone must have torque sensing drives. I'm saying why someone might want one. That's why I wanted one and got one (Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra FS). I'm glad I did. BTW, I'm seventy-five. Don't wear spandex either.

Why would you want torque sensing? Well, because you want the ebike to feel like an acoustic bike but with a stronger rider, that's why.

I think your life will be easier with the EggRider + phone. Program on the road or trail, better display that calculates & shows kwh/mile in real time. Phone also doubles as live map.

Take screenshots of the pages with mysterious parameters before you change them; so you can back out if need be.
