2024 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Hey everyone, I know I don't like it when people just disappear, so letting you know I'm taking a sabbatical from the site for a bit. Life interfering with riding. Will be back when I can. Arrivederci a tutti ...

2024 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Got out today for my first ride since our Mexico vacation, where I slipped and fell - onto my knees! - 3 days in, and spent the rest of the week sitting in a lounge chair with ice on my knees waiting for the drink guy to come by again 😱! Just 7 miles, mostly flat, with assist to keep the joints...

    Just for fun...

The"pest control" program at our hotel resort in Mexico last week...I think there were several, as we saw different people walking around with them, and also spotted one up in a palm tree by the pool. PS - the random kid in the background was NOT the pest 🤣🤣🤣!

2024 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Today was the day! Knees are pain-free, and Alan was raring to go! The goal was to get out and get the knee joints moving without much resistance. Used lots of assist, lower gears, and more throttle than usual 😁. It all seemed to work, because everything continued to feel good throughout the...

While Awaiting The Arrival Of My New Steed...(Zwift Question)

If you're riding 45 minutes on the Zwift now, you should be able to ride 10-12 miles comfortably right away, I would think. 50-60 miles will eventually be doable, with your battery range being the main limiting factor. Enjoy your new bike!

I found a couple of 2024 Kona EVs available in the Piedmont Triad area! Hope to test drive sometime this week 🤞🤞🤞.

2024 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Got my knees all cortisone-shotted up this morning - hope to be able to take "Alan" out for a spin in another couple of days! Spring breaking (with elementary school kiddos) in Mexico next week, then should be able to get serious about riding again - looking at YOU, Virginia Creeper Trail 😁😁😁!

    Electric Car thread

I believe most of the data available shows that the majority of Americans drive well under 40 miles per day (yes, there are many who drive more than that, but they're still the minority), so a plug-in hybrid would use no gas at all on a daily basis.

What a lot of these stories fail to report is that demand for EVs continues to grow - it's the rate of GROWTH in demand that is slowing, not demand itself. Like any new technology, there will be fits and starts. As the charging network continues to be built out, people will be much more amenable...

Total e-bike ban after a fatality in Key Biscayne, FLA

The issue for me is, emotorcycles and emini-motorcycles are NOT ebikes. The thing ridden by the 12 year old that killed the unfortunate woman is NOT, in my opinion, an ebike. The vehicles lined up outside the school in the picture are NOT ebikes. Those things ought to be able to be easily...

I'm still working on my PM to try residency either in Italy, or the Canton of Ticino in Switzerland. I speak Italian, so either would work...PM's grandparents came from the Berner Oberland in Switzerland, so that might make it a bit easier. Already checked, and we meet the income requirements of...

I'm thinking that, unless a lot more voters in swing states wise up, he's not going down - we are 😱😟🤬. All of the most important criminal trials are being slow-walked, so I don't expect any justice from the courts. It's all on the voters, which is a scary prospect right now.
